I don't get this loyalty rubbish, footballers get 15 to 20 years at most to work and get money for their whole lives. If somebody came to me offering me twice the money for the same job id be off and so would most rational thinking people. Mig played awesome for us in the time he was here and probably was the main reason we didn't go down last season I for one wish the kid luck and hope he remembers most of the Sunderland fans like and respect him as the man he turned into at our club. There has been too many players being paid good money and not caring how they play playing for Sunderland while picking up good money for me to ever abuse the players who have!
I'd be sad but would understand if Mig wants to move on this summer - he's top class and it's only a matter of time. Personally I'd expect a bit more than £10m (£12m to £15m somewhere). And if the reason he'd leave would be for a bigger club, then I'd prefer he went somewhere like Arsenal and got CL footie. Liverpool aren't up there at the moment and so he'd just be playing the same games as he would here... As for loyalty - nonsense. It's not as if he grew up a SAFC fan. We developed him but he could have equally done so elsewhere, so I'm happy that we've managed to get three great years from him and a tidy £8m+ profit. All the best to Mig if he does move on.
Interesting. Liverpool fans don't even deem this thread worthy. They haven't even mentioned Mig on their transfer thread in the last week (could be longer, I only looked back 1 week) Some folk are talking like he's already gone. Strange that so many are taking the presses bait.
I'm still hanging onto the report with quotes from his agent saying he would honor his contract, however if he did go the world would not end
This plus maybe better that he goes now whilst we still have Westwood who is a very good keeper and we were going to lose one of them this summer.
To be honest I think we'll sell him, but not because a 'has been side' have 'offered 10m' in mid June. Think it could be a case of he wants too high wages and too small a buyout clause. I think we've got weeks of contract negotiations to come yet, but i don't think we'll let him honor his contract and lose him for free. It's getting irritating that with every speculative press story related to him we get yet another thread with everybody saying exactly the same thing again and again. Could do with a Sticky Thread regarding this transfer saga cause it's like groundhog day everyday on here at the moment.
This, ****ing hell one of the reasons why the mig was so busy is that our back 4 are piss poor, sort the back 4 out and we could have an average keeper and accumulate more points, in pdc I trust
The lad kep't us up last season, 10mil. no way 15mil. then ok, that's if he want's to, just hope it's all bull.... from the bindippers, come on mig give us another season.ktf
But its the same every window with every club, your best players (in our case mig and sess) will always be subject to speculation as they are the only 2 worth talking about sadly. We discuss whats topical and the mig will not go away until its resolution, none of us want him to go, it started at £6.5 we all said **** off, then £9 and we said **** off, now its £10m and a few are starting to sway, sorry to be the bearer of bad news mate, i doubt this will be the last thread on the mig
Oh I know mate, could be another dozen. Imagine what it's going to be like once our recruitment policy start showing results. It'll be frantic on here.
It'll be very very bad business. I'd take the levy approach myself, draw it out till September, leak bullshit to the press that contract negotiations are ongoing and encouraging. Drive the price up over the next month. He still has two years left to run. We have the right and luxury to drive the price up. If we sell before July it shows that despite all the changes in recruitmentment, we're still pathetic little pushovers regarding player sales, Hando and bent aside (but that was Liverpool and Villas own stupidity).
Every media outlet seem to be reporting it, unless there is a denial by the club shortly he's off, or so it looks
He made the most saves in the prem last season, was up there with clean sheets, no1 on the opta thingy, playing in a piss poor side. Aye he's not bad like
