Hobbs wasn't fully fit for the last game of the season, maybe part of the reason why. Also tickles is one of the chaps at the snooker club, if he says Hobbs is going nowhere, then Hobbs is going nowhere. Fact.

In fact I feel quite priveledged to have a member of the snooker club on here. Sorry for ever doubting you mr. tickler.

If all this is true and Hobbs does shift on it begs the question who will be captain? Cos I cant see Koren being a regular starter. He'll probably remain club captain and then someone else on the pitch gets it. Meyler?

None of us can see logic in it, but as BCC keeps pointing out, cash plus player deals don't happen where the selling club just gets some **** player they don't want, they have to want a particular player and if there's a defender any smaller club is going to want from us it's Hobbs. That's why offering Stewart to Leicester makes no sense either. Personally I think losing him will cost us more than it saves us in transfer fees so I wouldn't do it.

He wasn't. He got a knock a week before that and could only make the bench for the last two games. His absence at Barnsley cost us the game within about 4 minutes. Whatever you think about his suitability for the PL, he was undoubtedly one of our best players last season.

I'd give it to Quinn or Meyler.

I can't see why we would trade Hobbs - at his age he is a great prospect for us based on his form to date.

Davies although once good is a has been. It would make no sense to trade Hobbs for him.

Read my post above. If you don't believe that Hobbs has no pace then I give up. He will get found at in the Prem, just like Wayne Brown did in his one and only appearance. I like Hobbsy and he was great for us last season, but he just wont cut it at that level.

    Faye is slower than Hobbs.

Bruce and McShane have no pace either.

It's not like every PL defender is a speedy little kid, they still have big bastards at CB like every other league in the world.

None of our centre backs are quick, it's an issue, that's precisely why Brucey wants Davies.

Personally, I'd get rid of Macca and Bruce ahead of Hobbs, but nobody would take Bruce and we're giving Macca a new contract based on his cult status, rather than his football ability.

Hobbs may or may not make it in the premier league, it could go either way and if Bruce is prepared to sacrifice him to get a player he wants then fair enough, im pleased hes prepared to cut loose some established championship players.
decisions like this need to be made without sentiment.
Mcshane and Faye both have top level experience.
