Defoe & Townsend

Apparently Spurs are putting 10 players on the transfer list... Wouldnt take Parker, Gomes, Grandpa Friedal but would be more interested in Defoe than Bent and would take Townsend, also Assou-Ekotto but doubt he would come here.....

I do like Townsend and would defo take him.

 

Townsend and Defoe would be amazing signings. Townsend is possible, really can't see Defoe coming here

 

Townsend is an interesting option for the squad.

 

Can't see us going for Townsend, no chance of getting Defoe, could see Liverpool being interested if Suarez leaves.

 

Not sure I would want Defoe. Good finisher but never gets a run of games.
Never rated Essou-Ekotto but always thought Huddlestone would make a decent squad addition. I know we're a bit heavy in midfield now but I'd take him as 3rd/4th choice competition maker.

 

Wasn't LLoris on the verge of a walkout at the start of the season because Boas wouldnt drop Friedel?
Was there a falling out because I seem to remember Friedel having something like the record for most consecutive matches played around that time then suddenly he was just benched.

I'd like to see Defoe here, but don't think it'll happen.

 

No disrespect but defoe would walk into your team, as he would Sunderland's, can't understand how you would be unsure of him, but like someone on here says, there's no chance of him coming this far north

 

Think he would want to move to a club who is going to better than Newcastle

 

Townsend yes, Defoe no.

I see Defoe being like another Michael Owen like signing. Getting on and basically a has-been.

Those who start scoring goals young often finish young. Owen started scoring at 16, and he was finished at 26. Defoe started scoring at 16, and he's getting on a bit too. He'll probably score a few crucial goals, but I don't think he'll be a good signing, unless he's cheap.

 

Can't see him moving much further than London, if qpr had stayed up then maybe he'd have gone there, just for the money, maybe west ham, Fulham?

 

Owen wasn't a has been, he just never recovered from injury, defoe hasn't had an injury half as bad as Owen's and he'd be a bloody good signing for clubs like ours imo
