As the UK is a member of the EU,having quotas against players from other EU countries would be against the law.EUFA tried qoutas in European competitions during the early 90's and were told to stop.I think teams in this country are only allowed 3 players from outside the EU and then they need a work permit. There are also rules about obtaining work permits. That is one of the reasons we have had to loan out Joel Campbell
Don't know too much about him, but don't really think he is better than hazard, mata or oscar. A repacement for Moses and maybe challenge Oscar? But they are building to an impressive (and younger looking squad) think they need a stiker and maybe a defender or two. Will be a massive threat under Mourinho next season.
They need a decent striker and I'd expect Maureen to be given a blank cheque to get one. Looks like Ba is on his way out though.
Chelsea are just a top CF forward away from being a major force. Let's just hope that the likes of Cavani opt to join the likes of Madrid and not Chelsea.
I think, like Arsenal, they have issues in defensive midfield positions. Lots of teams must feel they can attack fairly easily when it is a combination of Lampard, Mikel and Ramires in the withdrawn role. Obviously depends how Maureen sets them up, but somebody needs to put a shift in, in those areas.
You'd think that, but remember it started to go all bad for Mourinho when he got both Shevshenko and Ballack at the same time, people said oh DAMN Chelsea are unstoppable now, and it didn't turn out that way. Chelsea have a good way of making top class players become quite ****ty and average.
We won't get Cavani so you can relax. I'd be more worried if we got Lewandowski, he'd fit our system to a tee. IMO Cavani will either go to Real or stay at Napoli, but I was told on good authority that Cavani will go to Chelsea (which now looks unlikely).
Chelsea have always been just 1 striker away from a great team. thankfully the gods of football have decided that all but 1 of the strikers they have signed in ten years will turn out dreadful. For every Drogba theres 20 flops costing about £200million. Anyway it doesnt matter who they sign or anyone else as hes coming back to where he was loved and that equals game set and match premier League
Not sure I agree that Chelsea need anything to help their attack. Their investment in Mata, Oscar and Hazard, gives them 3 expensive, very lightweight attacking options, who have very little interest in defending. The addition of Schürrle does little to address that. My own view is that I can't see Chelsea being successful in England with any 2 of Mata, Oscar and Hazard being on the pitch at the same time. However you slice it, you are going to give opponents a chance to run at your CBs.
Really ? I think they have struggled at CF - and with Ba reportedly being shipped out, I think Maureen will certainly be in for a striker.
Probably didn't state that particularly well. Let's say that I don't think that striker is their most pressing concern. Torres isn't as bad as people make out and Mata/Hazard aren't as good, again IMHO. Just can't see how Schürrle, who is a Second Striker by trade helps them, now they have 4 players for that position.
I can see what you mean about Schurrle, he was linked with us for a bit too, but for me they would be massively dangerous with a top striker in front of that MF, I think it's the missing piece of the jigsaw for them at the moment.
The good thing for both our sides is its not too often they find the right 'top' striker. They need a poacher imo. Someone who will stay in the box and be there to add an end product to the midfields hard work.
