Its not as bad as it looks. He was charged with gbh, but has done a plea bargain ie he pleaded guilty to abh, which is a much less serious charge, and the prosecution dropped the gbh.

I'd be stunned if he wasnt playing next season.

First time offence, plus he pleaded guilty. being purely selfish towards Ipswich, hopefully he will just get community service, or suspended sentence. My hunch is that he will go down for a couple of months.

I don't know whats worse out of the 2 crimes, but Troy Deeney got 10 months for affray (first time offender aswell) and was out in 3. if that can be used as a guideline.

Perhaps we should be having a Paul Taylor prediction thread?

Affray is much serious than abh. Community Service is a good shout.

Maybe he needs Gerrards or Terry's lawyer to get him off the hook...i also have a hunch that he'll initially get 2-3 months, which will be reduced to a suspended sentance after appeal.

Well it wouldn't be a first time an Ipswich player has worn a tag around his shin pad!

" Was only abh on a bouncer. "

Jesus christ. What if the bouncer was a family member of yours, your dad etc? One of the least pleasing posts I have read in quite some time, that's an absolutely disgusting thing to say........

I'm not enitrely sure what the " bouncer " has to do with anything. Should this be completely dismissed, but say, if he did exactly the same to a 90 year old he should have the maximum crime possible?

My perspective, is football goes completely out the window here. I'm fed up with celebrities, rich people, sports stars being let off and treated in a completely different way to you and I. Let's get the arrogant lot back down to normality please.

I'm all up for helping Taylor and supporting him after whatever crime is dished out to him though. People make mistakes, so long as they learn from them. I did hear Peterborough fans laughing their heads off, and have been warned by several before he signed the guy is trouble off the pitch.
