I'm pretty sure that if we had a squad of value £35m more we would have got more than one point extra! Everyone knows that you earn more from being in the CL and can therefore spend more. If we compare with Man U, Man C, Chelsea and Liverpool, it is clear that Arsenal do better than you would expect given their limited resources but we're up pretty close considering we've only got 2/3 of your income.
And what I'm asserting is that this is utter speculative hogwash. Who's to say whether any replacement we signed would be more or less successful than Bale? I seem to remember Van Persie made a similarly large points contribution to Arsenal in his final season, with the funds from his sale Arsenal signed Podolski and Giroud who combined made a similar contribution. If we sold Bale for the £80m figure being discussed at the moment, we could buy 4 Cazorlas...
And again with this stupid figure. Even using your own ridiculous logic, you'd expect Chelsea to have overtaken us, as they spent £92m. Arsenal also spent £52.3m, so you're suggesting that £8m should move you up a place in the division, regardless of all other factors. Have you actually found anyone that agrees with this gibberish yet or do you enjoy embarrassing yourself?
Calm down you old tart That 'stupid' figure that makes you angry is the reality of what Spurs spent on their squad, don't get mad with me, get mad with Levy
That's the whole point, it's not. Gross spend is utterly and completely irrelevant, which is why you keep mentioning it and ignoring net spend and wages.
This thread, which had an interesting point, is now ruined Did anyone actually manage to get the relevant figures?
No you didn't. You provided alternative figures and a website where we could possibly gleam the correct ones with some work.
