Championship side Leeds United have had an enquiry for Peterborough United skipper Tommy Rowe rebuffed. Rowe is available for transfer after rejecting the offer of a new three-year contract at London Road, but so far only Leeds have shown an interest in a 24 year-old who has excelled in a variety of positions at Posh. Posh Director of Football Barry Fry, the man in charge of transfer negotiations at London Road, said: “I’ve had Brian McDermott (Leeds manager) on the phone about Tommy and I’ve also spoken to their chairman Ken Bates and their chief executive Shaun Harvey, but Leeds just don’t have any money - they thought he'd be a free and will not meet the £200K asking price. “We’re sorry to be losing Tommy, but he’s made it clear to us that we could offer him £20,000 per week and he still wouldn’t sign a new deal. “That’s not to say he won’t be here next season because we won’t give him away. And if Tommy is here we know we will continue to get 100 per cent from him as he’s a terrific lad.” Fry insists he hasn’t given up on signing Gillingham midfielder Jack Payne on a permanent transfer, although he admits little progress has been made since Gills chairman Paul Scally turned down a ‘two-player-plus-cash’ offer from Posh. http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/...ds-united-can-t-afford-posh-skipper-1-5187977

Peterborough director of football Barry Fry has confirmed club skipper Tommy Rowe is keen to secure a move to Leeds. Fry had earlier stated that Leeds had enquired about the left-sided 24-year-old, but could not afford the former Stockport player.
"But until a transfer fee and a package can be sorted out then it won't happen and the player's aware of that and if he has to stay with us."
Go easy on TC lads, millwall only had 2 players left that were any good.Chris Taylor gone and Ford going soon,With the crap they have left they will be lucky to avoid a double relegation never mind league 1.I think there new west ham guy,Lomas could be a legend in anti millwall circles.
