Whoever gets the Wigan gig will have a brief to get Wigan back to the PL. The europa league and domestic cups will be for the squad players mainly. It also depends on who stays and who goes from the current crop of players. As for the betting on Bruce it may as well be 2000/1 now.
If it's true about Mike Phelan, surely that's a cue for a catchy by-line if ever there was one? "Phelan likes Whelan and Dealin'" perhaps? Or should I just get my coat?

Not an easy choice for Dave Whelan. Wolly has the european experience and knowhow whereas Owen Coyle knows how to get out of the championship(as manager of Burnley in 2009) and as that is the main priority for Wigan then Owen Coyle gets the gig. The Wigan v. Bolton and Burnley fixtures next season will have added spice. No more Bruce sillyness now thankfully - Fact.!!!!
Surely nobody on here truly believed he was going to leave us for Wigan, did they? It was never going to happen.
