    In terms of entertainment

La Liga, Bundesliga, EPL, Serie A

    In terms of competitiveness

Serie A, EPL, BundesLiga. La Liga

Where are you getting that '12th largest population stat' from? Cos Hull is nowhere near that.

It's a tough one, despite Madrid not having a great season, I think it would be difficult to pick the 3 best teams in the world without including both Barca and Madrid, so that gives La Liga a strong advantage. However outside of those 2 teams, there's only really Atletico Madrid who are a reasonable comparison to the other 'top' 3/4/5 teams in the other leagues, so they have a very strong 3 but not much else.

The premier league is predominantly Man U, Chelsea and Man City at present but I wouldn't rule Arsenal and Liverpool out entirely, both are huge clubs and WILL rise to success again probably sooner rather than later. Then there's Spurs, so long as they keep hold of Bale, are looking better by the year and have some very average players when compared to the other clubs around and above them. All it would take is a bit of cash injection used wisely and they could be well on their way to challenging for the title and in Europe.

Germany is always Batern Munich, Dortmund put a fabulous team together recently but it's getting picked apart already and they even finished how many points behind this season, I wouldn't regard them amongst European finest much longer but again, they will reinvest what they get from losing their best players and will invest in the next best players.

The other leagues don't even deserve a mention.

An avatar for our Jockanese Paddy contingent.

It's cute when fans of these little clubs pick a club in the big league to follow. <ok>

Couldnt agree more. I mean, why mention a league that has the team who has won the most intercontinetal titles in the world, the 2nd most European Cup / CL wins (more than any English or German side) and the most successful single city in European competion?

Agree in part with this summary ... I'd possibly add in Valencia to La Liga. 4th to 9th would do really well in EPL. Bottom 3 in La Liga - better than bottom 3 in EPL season just finished.

Germany - agree. Think Bayern will take teh best players of the rest again and will probably ruin teh overall competitvness of that league.

Serie A? No consideration given to Juve, Napoli, AC?

Roma, Lazio, Inter ? - ok poor season this season.

Toyed with putting Valencia in, for as good as they have been and as good as they should be they don't seem to stand out at the minute. Guess Atletico could fall into that description, they always seem to thrive off the back of a real superstar striker, they always get poached then they always seem to find another superstar replacement, well see who they replace Falcao with this time. Malaga are ones to watch too, they have a silly rich investor if I remember correctly.

Bums chins will give you an in depth analysis of Serie A. That league seems to have dropped dramatically in terms if the top teams, both Milan clubs struggling (on the pitch and at the bank I believe), dont know much about Roma but they were very poor with some very good players this season, really just leaving Juve as their super club, who were lacking a dominant front man. Big striker signing this summer and Juve could go on to big things in Europe this season.
