If we signed him, who would he replace?

No it doesn't - look at that big bold heading <doh>

"Leeds United can’t afford Posh skipper"

And Barry Fry says “I’ve had Brian McDermott (Leeds manager) on the phone about Tommy and I’ve also spoken to their chairman Ken Bates and their chief executive Shaun Harvey, but Leeds just don’t have enough money to meet our £200k valuation".

He's primarily a left winger, but he played LB and CM at Posh. I've seen them a few times, I really rate Rowe, he'd give us pace and width and a hell of a lot of energy. Glad it's the type of player we're linked with, but what with him being Peterborough's captain and their reluctance to sell for anything other than a ridiculous offer, I doubt we'll sign him

I'm sure we can easily afford £200k. So I suspect it has more to do with Barry Fry trying to play hardball. The hint is that Bates is no longer chairman, & as such, probably wouldn't be involved in player purchases in any way. Therefore this might be an old quote. Let's see how this develops

Fry has a reputation for being a bit of an idiot. Posh would obviously rather keep Rowe for a year to get them promoted and then have him leave on a free, so it makes sense that they'll be playing hardball because he's an important player for them.

As for Pacheco, is he still playing for Liverpool? Haven't seen/heard anything of him in years now!

Technically you're right TC. But I actually thought he became Hon. Pres. at the end of last season. If it's the 1st of July, so be it. He is still of no importance now. He has even said that he's taking a step back & isn't now involved. Nice attempt at a wind up TC.

I remember when he was meant to be the next big thing...but then again Liverpool fans also said that Stephen Wright, Ritchie Partridge, David Ngog and Ryan Babel would be superstars, so maybe we shouldn't read into it too much <laugh>
