The draw for the first round of the 2013/14 coc will be made on the 18th June

Cardiff City and Hull City as PL clubs are not involved in round one. (round 1 w/c 5/aug/13)

Both will enter in round 2 and be drawn against a first round winner (home or away). (w/c 26/8/13).

Wigan as fa cup winners wont enter until round 3 when all the teams in europe join the competition. Of course that is assuming that Wigan are still in europe.

Im imagining a scene like Rocky, except you're running through the backstreets of Orchard Park (shush, artistic license), to arrive at the base of the 'Umber Bridge. where you arrive at a stuffed hessian guy with Evan's face on it, and you throw a large potato pie, in slow motion, the gravy dripping out as it tumbles through the air, it explodes in a mess all over the dummy's head. Eye of the Tiger playing over the top obviously.

    Beautiful.

How long will it be until we see the inevitable 'Emile Sinclair completes free transfer to Rotherham' headline?

I reccon you are entitled to start a new thread for every years competition. I know we are in a recession but this is just too economical.

Anyone got any updates on the decision to introduce double-sized goals for extra-time next season?

    Bloody ridiculous.

Well Wigan enter the group stages of the europa league which start on 19th september. The 3rd round of the coc are w/c 23/sept so that would be a fair assessment. Swansea as coc winners have to enter the 3rd qualifying round matches which are played on 1st and 8th august and before the PL even starts. Tottenham enter the europa league play-off round games which are on the 22nd and 29th august. Fixtures are going to be interesting when they come out on 19th june @ 9am.

I like a thrifty person. Maybe a new thread when the draw has been made eh ? Lol.

Yes. Both managers instead will simply play the game ""Paper-Scissors-Stone."" Far quicker and simpler. <whistle>

Capital One have now announced details for the 2013/14 season. The first round draw (which will be on a regionalised basis) will be announced @ 9.30am on monday 17th june. 2 days before the league fixtures are made public. Interesting that only 70 FL clubs enter the first round stage with Reading joining in for round 2 and Wigan for round 3.

Wouldn't mind an away trip to Newport County; I wasn't old enough to experience the old version. Away at Rotherham, Leicester, Mansfield (always liked Field Mill, great pint there too) or York would suit me.

Is it only the first round that's seeded and split geographically? If so then I'd like one of the following when we enter:

    Accrington Stanley (A)
    Mansfield Town (A)
    Scunthorpe United (A)
    York City (A)
    Crewe Alexandra (A)
    Sheffield United (A)
    AFC Wimbledon (A)
    Dagenham and Redbridge (A)
    Newport County (H or A)
    Stevenage (H or A)
    Yeovil Town (H or A)

Newports ground is a dump but a better class dump than last time they were a FL club.

In round 2 Reading plus ALL the PL clubs not involved in europe join in the fun. It will be seeded but not regionalised. Only the first round is kept to north and south.

I would like Hull City to be drawn away. A trip to New York would be nice as well as seeing old friends (Steve Evans and Olm) meet up once again. Lol.

    Steve Evans, what a twat...

If we do get them, I hope someone 'accidentally' knocks him out.

Not until round 3 then as Wigan get 1st and 2nd round byes. So its Rotherham away and then Wigan at home. That will do for me like. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Aside from Rotherham-Wednesday, I think it says a lot about your knowledge of football that the other games stand out more for you than, say, Huddersfield-Bradford or Preston-Blackpool. Hell, even Bournemouth-Pompey and Millwall-Wimbledon.
