I'm surprised to see that there wasn't a thread on this yet, so I thought I'd do it. Best Michu/Suarez Worst Sidwell
The opposition player who gave the best entertainment was Joe Hart. Honestly can't think of a worst but I'll go for Michu because I hated the way he celebrated his goals in front of us. Probably not what you were looking for. Sorry!
Michu was decent but Suarez was virtually unplayable. As well as Michu played we made him look better than he was/is.
Best was Micheal Carrick by a mile Ratboy has 10 minutes and a very lucky second. We also kept Bale out of the game against Spurs Villa team looked poor against us as did Wigan and Newcastle ( comic football) one from these teams
On reflection, I think Villa at LR were worst team by a country mile. At that point in the season they deserved to go down with us but obviously improved enough over the rest of the season.
Most surprising performance for me was Jason Roberts for Reading - classic away CF play, bloody nuisance, held the ball up, took it down the channels - just shows what experience and intelligence can do. Gerrard was very good for Liverpool as well. Loads of crap teams as well as ourselves, but Sunderland stood out for me as especially spineless - hard to choose between Graham, Bramble and a bunch of others as worst player.
Yep, toss up between Gerrard & Suarez as best..both a class above Worst was....Did we actually make anybody look bad? Dont remeber many!
Youssouf Mulumbu of West Brom was the best player outside of the obvious Man U and Liverpool ones for me. None of the Chelsea, Spurs, City or Arsenal players showed up this season. So you can take your pick from them for the worse performance. Bale?
Agree with Dave...........Carrick was sensational. Worst player...........didn't notice, as ours always looked far worse!
I genuinely think that if they picked a team full of other EPL English players or Championship English players who are hungry and work hard, we'd see at least more honerable football if not successful.
The Southampton game should be mentioned as well, they were exceptional at LR, especially Lallana I think it was.
Best: I thought Christian Benteke looked very good indeed in a poor Villa side. Worst: Jose Bosingwa for his game, or should I say half a game, against Newcastle.
That was because the players pissed about clearly letting TF know they wanted Hughes sacked. Any team would have looked like Barca against us that day.
