The trouble is with most fans you have to have a branded goods I don,t work like that I believe in getting bargains thats why I shop at Aldi Smith is a Aldi product you will get more for your money with him than buying a branded goods why buy Carroll when you can have Smith for less than it costs for Carolls wages in one week , There are other goodies to be bought you just have to search for them Perkins is one tell me another and I p;romise I will have a look and tell Brian Next one to look at Dale jennings Bayern Munich understand hes available for 350k
Well he's not that unknown but Moore from Brentford, great goalkeeper and still young for a goalkeeper at 23. I know he made a mistake in the play-off final but he seriously is one for the future and going to a very good goalkeeper, personally I rate him higher than the incredibly overrated Butland who is just mistakes galore. I read somewhere (a while ago now) that Brentford would accept an offer around 600k
And not only that, you dont want to spend your whole summer looking for gems and you dont want to fill your team with them
Even on 4k a week over a 3 year contract it would cost £600k didn't that Finnish midfielder we got on a free cost us 500k in agent and signing on fee's. My point is I would rather us forget the likes of Smith and Hunt, with the release of Somma as well invest in a proven goal scorer, it is going to be the same old thing all over again, fill the team with freebies battle around mid table and........ it goes on and on.. As was said by someone in another thread, I too trusted Warnock then my trust vanished and I ended up resenting him and his wasted signings.
Thats the difference, I never trusted Warnock. Was not particularly happy with his signings apart from a few (Pearce comes to mind). Its hard to say before McDermott has done much business but I don't think the majority of his signings will be players at the end of there career, how many 30+ players did Warnock sign or even 28+ whereas I reckon McD will aim more for the younger player who is hungry to improve and maybe try to mix that with the proven quality as well (hopefully) which for me is the way to do your business. There's way too many people condemning leeds united for their business this summer when it hasn't even begun yet, leave your negativity at the very least until more signings have come through.
To be fair, McCormack is good enough to get 15-20 in this division with the right service. Morison hasn't shown much so far but I seem to recall him hitting similar figures for Millwall. Poleon and Smith are unknown qualities at this level so we'll have to wait and see what they can achieve. Hunt (providing he signs) seems to be something of a 5-10 goal a season player, but one who will run the channels all day and provide space for the midfield. Our problem isn't really the strikers, it's the fact they get no service because our midfield sits so far away from them and we have no one who likes to run forward and link up with them, so McCormack etc drop deeper and deeper to try and influence the game, which obviously doesn't help them score! We have goalscorers in the squad, we should focus on a ball player, a creative attacking midfielder and a winger or two to provide the ammunition. You could have Cavani or Van Persie in the squad but it won't make a difference if there's no service.
He's always used on the right hand side though. He does do well there, but it means rather than bursting forward from midfield, he spends most of his time covering for Byram when he goes forward. Plus our inability to keep possession means that we sit too deep naturally, so when we do finally get the ball back, the forwards are a good 40 yards away, which just encourages hoofball...

Good points and I Agree, but the formation was more of a dimond under McD and I thought Green looked better as he wasnt so far to the right. I wouldnt mind seeing him get an extended run in his favoured centre midfield spot as he does like to break forward and can chip in with a few goals
Non of us are football scouts we are merely fans... We can wonder and say who we would like but at the end of the day its up to the scouts and manager not really any point saying we should get Perkins or Jennings unless there is some speculation of some sort. MOT
He could be worth a go in the centre, definitely. I would like to see a proper playmaker of some sort though, if we can find one. We have the energy in the middle, we need a touch of class there though
