.....our local sports reporters so anyone fancy a go ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/careers/trainee-schemes/kick-off
It is much harder than it looks/sounds (I know this because I am doing Sports Journalism at uni), but Gwilym really doesn't help himself.
Party and Andy payton, serious comment (not sure how many of those are on the boards) the voice problem is down to me being a twin and when we were learning to speak is something to do with that (sorry I can't provide more details but I don't fully understand what it was) - which is a bit of a pain as my ideal job would have been radio DJ. Sorry for taking up valuable thread space not slagging off another club/ BBC employee etc
Did you and your twin have your 'own' language and then develop recognisable speech later then the norm ?
something like that - it's a bit of a bugger when looking for work though when 99% of jobs require "good telephone manner", sorry I must sound like a right whinging sod
Ok I feel bad now. Your post was funny the way it was written and I imagined you had an unusual sounding voice. I now realise this was insensitive and if you have a speech impediment I apologise. I do not wish to mock speech issues. I should have thought. I am sorry.
Hear hear (Also doing Sports Journalism) - I thought it'd be so simple chatting away to the camera but the forced enunciation makes you feel like a right twat. Not to mention that you never get a partner to add a bit of variety - that alone makes you look like an idiot. This guy will have finished this year and it's just cringe-worthy all the way through. The layout is probably worse than him in all fairness - he has to say things like "Coming up next is this..." But rather than it switching to a preview or another reporter, he's just left to awkwardly pause and continue himself
Don't be a couple of Southern softies, you made a comment based on what was in front of you, I've had a lot worse and speech therapy didn't really help (to whoever suggested that)
Bloody hell, I thought you'd only just finished College? Do University course go straight on from College now or something?
Aah, right. My bad. I occasionally read something or misinterpret a piece of writing to make myself look a complete twat. It's definitely not the first time.
