So, yesterday @Roymoore_hornet had a meeting at the club and the club have agreed to give the new singy group the whole of RS1 from the pitch to the top of the Rookery.

The new group will be called 1881.

If you want to move your season ticket to help create an atmosphere that has long been missing at the Vic, you can email Roy at [email protected] with your current seat number and fan ID and he'll sort it for you.

There will be 500 seats available initially, with a minimum of 200 to get the ball rolling. If there are more than 500 people who want to move, the club have said that the group can spill into the SW corner of the Rous.

This can work, but only if we make it work. Get on the bandwagon (if that suits you) and let's get some noise going at the Vic!

    :)

Superb! Let's hope there is a good take up and the scheme works. You'll excuse me if I keep my rather excellent seat in the UR though! Will join in on the away trips as usual.:emoticon-0148-yes:

It's nice to see a club that listens to it's fans, it's even better to see a group of fans wanting to be involved in giving their club assistance! Well done Watford Family!

Good effort by all and not least those who run the club. Cynics could say it was easy to do but they still had to make the decision and it will mean a bit of work all be it not that much. We all know that you rarely get what you ask for so well done everyone!

These things are harder the arrange in practice than in theory, so good work all round. Hope it works out for you, lack of atmosphere seems to be the biggest problem with the "progress" football has made over the last 20 years.

some of my mates are season ticket holders at Arsenal and they forever compal;in about it. The only London premiership grounds with a really decent atmosphere are Upton park and white hart lane so you would imagine their patrons are apprehensive about moving.

Really? White Hart Lane? Their away support is awful based on their last two trips to Elland Road and I can't imagine their home being much better

You speak as if we're the only club with thugs. We're not, so cut the crap and climb down off your high horse. There's a Leeds lad currently recovering from a savage beating he got, unprovoked, on a train station platform by a group of Sheffield Wednesday fans. Are you going to tell them that they are all thugs as well?

Did I mention anywhere that I think you are the only club with thugs? No, I know you are not. But it would seem to me that Leeds is one of the clubs that has not really tackled the problem, only paid lip-service to tackling it.

It may surprise you, Marko, that Watford had one of the poorest reputations for fan behaviour in the lower divisions up to the late 70s. During the early years of the Elton John/Graham Taylor era, great pains were taken by the club to cultivate the "family" atmosphere and to attract more women & children to Vicarage Road. All very laudable, but the flip side of it was the way the Club & local police dealt ruthlessly with anyone tarnishing that image - i.e. anybody chanting too loud, swearing, threatening the opposing fans etc. was dragged off to the "police hut" and "persuaded" not to repeat their behaviour before being thrown out of the ground. Quite often, entirely innocent fans were targetted but that did not matter. Over a few years, this regime stamped out any behaviour deemed at all unruly and dissuaded pretty much every dubious character from coming back.

A sledgehammer to crack a nut, certainly, but the nut was nevertheless cracked and Vicarage Road never had the ignominy of fences around the pitch and instances of hooliganism after that were very rare.

Had other clubs with similar problems adopted the same approach, perhaps the result would have been the same......

Incidentally, the example of Sheffield Wednesday's fans is very bad one to quote. Over the years, I have found Leeds and both Sheffield clubs consistently among the worst grounds to visit and the nastiest of fans to endure.......along with the two cities. I'm sorry if that upsets people but I speak as I find.
