I think my issue is he could have said something a bit better thought through, talked about more goals, getting something from corners, perhaps even a target for tightening up the defence. But instead he plucked a figure from the air which, when analysed, might as well have played to the numptys with the eternal refrain 'This is going to be our year!" Why the hell even hang a specific figure out there? I don't mind issuing a challenge to the team behind closed doors, but to hand that juicy tidbit to the media is just careless.
I agree with you in the sense that he could have gone about it in a better way - but the underlying message is that he wants to improve
I tend to agree with you here. If you put two strikers that guarantee 30+ goals a season (lets say Shearer and Fowler from min-90's) into the same side, you won't get a 60+ goal partnership in return. One will always be more of a supporter to the other, whether that be on the pitch or simply second choice.
