From the yep "Millwall have pulled out of the race to sign Noel Hunt with the Reading striker on the verge of sealing a free transfer to Leeds United. New Millwall manager Steve Lomas abandoned plans to make an offer to Hunt after being informed that the 30-year-old had all but resolved to take up the opportunity available to him at Elland Road." Have to feel sorry for the wall guys when they are clearly so far behind little old us in pulling power
Hunt averages 1 goal every 405 minutes. Last season it went to 1 goal every 1080 minutes. When Reading got promoted 2 years ago it was a goal every 465 minutes. His scoring record is far worse than both Varney and Morisons
Only if you believe Yorkshire's finest paper I'm more inclined to believe Lomas himself who confirmed his interest in Kyle Lafferty and Simeone Jackson - either of those and I'd be happy - Hunt I would not
Hunt has scored an average of 10 goals per season in his prime years Thank **** we dont want him Sounds worse than Morison and we dont want him either If this is the kind of player Lomas will be looking at god help us,,,,,
I know your gonna laugh me off Mighty but Hunt isn't the goalscorer in the team. I've never been a huge fan but he offers more in his general alround play but doesn't get the goals to go with it. To me he seems like a worse version of McCormack and if we didnt have Ross then I could understand the signing more but I think McD is wanting 4 strikers with more than likely McCormack and Morison being first team and then Hunt being a like-for-like replacement for McCormack and Smith being a like-for-like replacement for Morison.
Josh good luck with that one im sure you understand your players more than i do but the way im seeing it is you will have 4 strikers and Ross is the only one who will get you regular goals. Becchio was on fire first half of last season and his goals deffo need replacing cos without them last season youd now be in league 1 and before you say it we are in a worse possition
I have no idea without looking at stats but I would take a good guess that Becchio got the majority of goals in the first half of the season because we were not big scorers under Warnock. I'd expect to get more goals from all around the pitch under McD. I would prefer us not to sign Hunt and look at someone of better quality personally but I think it'll put more pressure on other signings if they do become our 4 main strikers. When are you guys gonna get a striker that can score?
