Apparently HM is contingent on Carroll going to West Ham though, which he is still kicking up about (knob). Still, I'd like to think the club aren't aiming for net zero spend this summer so why would have to wait for Carroll to leave before signing him :/

 

I'm also glad though that we haven't been linked to a single British player this summer, foreign is best

Expect Carroll to be signing either this week or next week - if he's still here after that, then I'll be concerned!

Crazy how much we could improve the group's quality whilst lowering the wage total with say Carroll and Downing going, with Carra retiring.

Haven't head the Pearce and Bent rumours and Williams rumours died towards the end of last season. UNless they ahve resurfaced in the last few weeks?

 

Heard the Pearce rumour more than others. Not heard much about Bent but it wouldn't be a summer without him being linked to us (same with Carlton Cole but we're still waiting; free agent too). The Williams stuff died down after we signed Toure

Alex Pearce was always a rumour - the club and journos close to the club (Hunter, Barrett, King etc) always denied it.

Williams was a massive target but died quickly and the signing of Toure signalled the end.

In terms of replacing Suarez - HM, Lamela and Muriel please

 

I still think its Aspas and any other forward will be an addition rather than replacement

For about six months, Bent is a quality player in the right setup so that should suit Newcastle perfectly

 

Alberto and Aspas would be great additions. But as you say - won't be happy if they are seen as a replacement (maybe for Downing and Shelvey).

 

Not sure if you took my comment in the right way (especially as I am very rarely see as positive )

I think Aspas will be Suarez's replacement but I don't think Aspas will be the only forward we sign
