That was probably his best moment in a spurs shirt, but I still think our £3m sell on bonus gift from Spurs was worth more
Could some of the fans of other teams do this for their team? It'd be really interesting. I'd have no idea how Spurs' squad cost (in transfer fees) would compare to Arsenal. I'm guessing pretty similar (?). Chelsea, United and City would obviously be a lot more but I'd still like to know how much more. And what about Liverpool or Everton? Assume that Liverpool will have spent more than us on transfer fees but might be wrong. And then Everton would probably be ridiculously low. Come on you other fans - I can't be arsed to do it myself.
Might have a go but don't hold your breath - I'm gonna be out of even mobile range for next few days. I'm sure some of the little helpers from the other teams' boards can have it done by then. And when I'm next online I expect to learn about us tying up all those twenty or so transfers that are in the pipeline...
Touche' Not sure about other teams' transfer spends. But there was a recent tally of transfer spending for last season and Spurs came out as 3rd highest, behind only Utd and Chelsea and ahead of City and Arsenal. http://www.byfarthegreatestteam.com...manchester-united-arsenal-tottenham-hotspur/?
I've already had this argument with Piskie on the Goon's board and he ran away from it then, so I've no idea why he's trying to resurrect it here.
Don't go there then As for Santos, I think as engima says it was closer to £5m we got from Spurs for the Bentley deal, so that would be 5/6th's of a Santos, shame we couldn't have chosen a different head, maybe one who actually knew how to defend ?!
I'm not trying to resurrect any argument, there's you making assumptions again . . . Somebody asked for a breakdown of transfer spending, stop being so touchy.
No, somebody asked for what the current squads cost. Not transfer spending. Its the topic of this thread
Well transfer spending will give you an indication of squad cost, although I appreciate that the link doesn't give the full picture, only transfer spending from last season.
What was aked for was the equivalent value of other teams. Ours cost 126.9m to put together and the interest was to see how this compared with other teams - especially Arsenal and Everton I would think, as the closest teams in terms of position/buying power.
There's a good website here http://www.transferleague.co.uk/ that lists all sorts of figures including each clubs' net spend since the PL started, including revenue streams etc. There's also a breakdown of all in's and out's from each team with a price for each player, so you could work it out from there.
Here's a better breakdown, although it is from the season before last. http://espnfc.com/columns/story/_/i...-cost-effective-premier-league-table?cc=5739#
Transferleague does tend to have a few errors or omissions, though. Fees that they don't know are ignored completely and some sell-on fees are noted, but others aren't. Wage bills are accurate but largely ignored, for some reason.
