Meyler I'd probably put on a par with Ledley at this time, both looked just as good in the championship, elmohamady is twice the player of commons. The rest of your team I don't know all that much about, I haven't watched Celtic much this year.

At the end of the day (and I don't want any arrogant Celtic fans - remind us how many Celtic players were on the Player of the year award list) most people outside of the British Isles would probably put the Scottish league on the same level as the Dutch league ( only difference is Holland do better in the World Cup and Euros), and that yes a few Scottish Cup medals and SPL winners medals might look nice on the mantelpiece but when any player in a lesser league (remember the EPL is sold to countries all around the world and has huge media exposure, the SPL isn't even sold to English TV companies, not sure if it is in Ireland) is considering his next move come contract renewal time then the chance to be playing against some of the best defenders, week in and week out in world famous stadiums like Anfield, Old trafford etc versus an occasional good european run (that is dependent on the draw), playing against Sean Dillon or Alan Maybury (to name 2 defenders)

I understand what your saying and that can be said about any player in any league outside the EPL can't it? so how do you actually define a proven player if he isn't in the EPL, also remembering when Hooper played for Scunthorpe, a team ho finished 20th in the championship he was the 3 top goal scorer that season and has improved as player since then.Would you say he was more consistent that season with a much lesser team? What more do you want?

I'm not saying we want 10m+ but 4m is an insult considering we paid over 2m for him and hes improved as a player since hes been at Celtic, and been able to cope with the pressure that comes with Celtic, European games, cup finals deby games etc

Honestly mostyn, the eredivisie is significantly stronger than the SPL, there are a number of very good teams in there, rather than just one. Ajax, PSV, FC Twente, Vittesse, Feyenoord all are decent sides with good players. Though the rest of the teams making up the numbers are about as weak as 9/10ths of the SPL.
