Sorry, but with all due respect the SPL isn't the greatest indicator of talent. Why do you source most your players from the Championship?

 

Well Gary Hooper fits the ""Must Live Close To Hull" criteria at least. Still has his house near to Scunny that he rents out at present. I am 50/50 on this one. SPL = bottom half of the championship overall. In saying that Hooper looked ok in the CL last season.

 

If we really need to compare Scottish football vs English football, how many European qualification spots do the Scottish get compared to the English?

We get 3 champions league group spots, 1 champions league qualifiers spot, and 3 Europa league places.

And Scotland gets........

Common Sense i'd call it an insult , EPL teams buy similar players from similar leagues from all over Europe for 10m+ (i'm not saying we should get 10m+ for him), but as its the Scottish league you all love to put down so much, yet you think you can ge tall our best players on the cheap. Look at Ki, a player who couldn't get a game at Celtic, went for 6 million, comapre him to Hooper, whos the first name on the team sheet and our top goal scorer.

Also Hooper is worth more than 4m to us if we keep him for another season and le thim go for free next, Celtic will be thinking abouth the three CL qualifiers we have and the 20m you get from the group stages, would we risk that for 4m?

Regardless, they got pumped out. And I note you didn't disagree with my assertion that this Man Utd team isn't a vintage one yet they still ran away with the title.

I would think you would sell and replace him , possibly use the money for Kevin Doyle who you keep getting linked with .

 

I would say this man utd team is far from poor, top class players in every position bar a stand out central midfielder, but they had Kagawa who is class in an advanced midfield role.

I wouldn't say it was a poor man utd team by any stretch like I said class all the way through the team .

No, I said the current Man Utd isn't as good or as strong as Man Utd teams that have won the EPL title in the past. I believe most Man Utd fans would agree with that. And they strolled the EPL

Thats easy, becuase of the over inflated prices in the in the EPl for ridiulously average players, its all about money. I'm not saying it is a good indicator of talent but when a team and a player have proved themselves at a higher level, i.e. the CL, show a bit of respect, dont start with this he might not be able to cut it and at 4m its a risk, thats nonsense, especially when a team in the EPL were one palyer costs more than about every player in the SPL put together, yet finish 4th in their group.

 

Still, how many Celtic players would get into the man utd starting 11, or even man city, Chelsea, arsenal or tottenhams starting 11?

Personally I don't think any of them would, maybe a case for Hooper at spurs, but other than that...

 

They strolled it because other teams massively under achieved but there not bad sides , Celtic stroll the Scottish league because most of the other teams are made up of pub players.

 

The SPL is a joke, second rate teams that would struggle in the Championship

 

In all honesty Kevin Doyle couldn't lace Hoopers boots, he would make Celtic weaker at this time and that would be a bad move for us, sell hooper and replace with Doyle, no thanks
