Films that the critics drool over, ground-breaking multi-level masterpieces that somehow leave you feeling like you've been conned or are too thick to get the deep subliminal undertones that shoot way over your head while all around you people are jerking off in rapturous adulation??

I have two which I have watched at least three times and failed miserably to find even a hint of the magic within. Citizen Kane and Battleship Potemkin.

I've tried watching Citizen Kane a few times and just can't get into it.

Controversial but Pulp Fiction. It was enjoyable enough but nothing special.

Citizen Kane is a fantastic film. Orson Welles was a genius.

Any of Tarantino's films are ****.

    Not having that!!

Citizen Kane I enjoyed but certainly not 'greatest movie' ever type that it sometimes gets labelled. Batelship Potemkin as above was feckin dire as was Killer of Sheep and the 400 blows.

The story, the cinematography, the great acting, the whole kit and kaboodle.

But it's all a matter of taste and opinions.

As I say, Welles for me was a genius.

He even had the dafty Americans thinking they were being invaded from outer space in his radio monologues.

you must be a hoot ;). Those two are in my top 10. Withnail and i does take a special sense of humor but it's just one liner after one liner. A Clockwork Orange is articulate, philosophical and naughty. Superb.

Most overrated for me is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy purely on the basis that they could have easily cut an hour from each film, there's just no need.

The original, "A Night To Remember" is a classic.

True, but that was about the actual sinking, whereas 'Titanic' was just about a 'holiday romance' that just happened to be on a big ship that sank.

If that review doesn't get me the job of a film critic then nothing will <ok>

I knew it was going to be controversial because it is considered to be iconic. I donlt think it's neecssarily a rubbish film but i don't consider it to be as amazing as many people. Same with Clockwork orange. In fairness i'm sure a lot of people would hate my favourite films - it's all just opinion really......

Never really got into the godfathers.. I shall ignore the other two mentioned and agree with the Life of Brian. That is my all time favourite funny film. Just thinking about it makes me chuckle.
