Gonna put only quotes as the article is very suggestive.

"I'm not here to be comfortable, to sit and earn the money and just enjoy being Liverpool manager," he explained.

"There's a pressure that comes with it and I believe we're in a much better place to challenge now. I think we can do it - I believe we have built a real good base this year.

"Of course, it will be a tough ask because, as we improve, other clubs will have masses more money to do so as well. But it's not my job to look for excuses, I have to find the solutions to try to push us in there - and I believe we won't be too far away."

"What we showed last season was promise. There were moments of disappointment and moments of delight, but when I look at the reality of it we scored 47 goals the year before and this time got 71 - and we hope to add to that amount,

"Defensively, for a team that was supposed to be very strong a year earlier, we only conceded three more goals.

"So in terms of numbers and performance wise we improved. Now I believe we will improve again - and we have to because we want to sustain a challenge and aim higher every season."

"We need one/two centre-halves, and I'm looking to bring 20 more goals into the team - so I'm also looking at an offensive player to give us a real threat on goal and another attacking midfield player," he added.

"We definitely need to do that, especially if we're going to put some young ones out on loan to gain experience.

"It's not easy when you can't make mistakes, but we want to keep the acceleration and pushing on so this is a very important window for us."

Concern is that the attacking players he's referring to are Aspas and Alberto...

Why is that a concern, I think Aspas looks a very good player don't know much about the other fella. Are you not a fan of either?

They are very good additions for the money. Alberto won't be first team though. He's similar age and position to Shelvey and I sincerely believe he is being bought as a direct replacement for him, so will be a sub player to give us depth.

I like the fact BR wants to add 20 more goals to the team. I see that as being another winger/inside forward in addition to Aspas. + a striker if Suarez leaves

I think both would be great additions to the squad and improve the depth. I'm unsure if they can slot straight into the first team (Aspas has a better chance) but time will tell. If Suarez was to stay, then brilliant - both players will compliment him. But if we lose Suarez, then we lose a massive focal point.

I'm just hoping for more experienced quality who are pretty much nailed on to get into the first team - i.e. Henrikh Mkai - plays for the biggest team in Ukraine and has Champions League experience.

I'm assuming all BR's signings and quotes are based on Suarez staying for us. I sincerely hope that if BR is resigned to let him go then we look at far better first teamers than we are currently. We will need a big name and a lot of goals to fill the void left by suarez. Plus I have real reservations over Sturridges consistency (or lack of) over a full season. As it stands I see Alberto as being a sub and Aspas as a replacement for Downing.

Yep - I'll be happy with this.

Andy Hunter has said that we will push on for HM once Carroll leaves. Implies he's a target even if Suarez stays.

When I look at the reality, we were always going to score more goals because we were creating the chances and had a ridiculous number of woodwork hits, which the law of averages said would be much lower. The reality of this is that Brendan is claiming credit for managing the law of averages.

So, for a team that was given a big goal boost while only being a little bit poorer defensively, we were unable to rise more than two positions in the league. If only everybody else had performed the same as the previous season, we might've made top four. It's that damned law of relativity, which I'm sure Brendan will be able to manage more effectively once he gets a grip on gravity and its effect on stars and planets.

By being, on average (that damned law again), unable to beat teams quite as high up the league as we were able to the previous season. If that's an improved performance then QPR must be Premier League champions.

Rodgers has improved us this year, admit it. The guy's not even 40 ffs, give him a break. What about him do you hate? Who would you have preffered to have replaced Kenny?

Really Brendan? So you're looking at 91 goals as a realistic target next season? Given United only scored 86 & finished 28 points ahead of you, & Chelsea merely 75, finishing 14 points ahead - then dare I suggest that the 'goal' is neither realistic nor the area which would yield the greatest improvement for you............

I understand what you're saying and Rodgers probably went about it in the wrong way - however, our attack still needs a lot of work:

    Suarez is probably off
    Sturridge is injury prone
Coutinho won't deliver in every game

well considering Downing played in the first team all year and scored almost zero goals it's fair to say we could swap him for someone who will score us 20 <whistle>

He said he wants to add 20 goals, as if it was some well planned 'project' mate, when the reality of the numbers would suggest that's it's merely twaddle.

Unless you're going to sign Ronaldo, there's no many wingers who'll chip with in with 20+ goals mate. However, I suppose more than 3 in 2 league seasons would be an improvement though

Goals win games Tobes, so the more goals we score, the more likely we are to win.

Of course, I wish it was as easy as that but I don't see any problems with the comment. We scored 70 despite playing Downing all season, and only having 1 striker for 1/2 a season.

If you score 91 league goals next season - you'll win the league.................so therefore by definition that must be his aim for next season then? <whistle>

I can only assume that in his head he's anticipating Sturridge replacing the 23 league goals that goofy netted last season & him adding goals from midfield & the wide areas with new signings?
