    Would appear the case.

I explained somewhere the real reason for him going back to chelsea. His ego has been hurt, badly. It was too big a risk to go to a massive club like United off the back of such a torrid time at Madrid. With the other big clubs all securing managers it left just one single option for him.

fact is he wasnt even Chelsea's first choice, rather a consolation prize. Pep was the first choice, the twinkle in Romans eyes but he rejected them for a bigger club.

If you are judging Chelsea on two seasons (rather than the whole roman era: 11 trophies v Glazer's 10+huge borrowing) then we should judge United in Europe over the last two seasons.

Obliterated by Basle and Benfica 2011 and embarrassed home and away against a below par Real.

You guys freely admit how badly Jose did in his last season in Spain. "One of real's worst ever managers" was there for the taking.

How many points do you expect Jose to get this season? I am hoping for 80+

We've under performed in europe no doubt but we had a big battle for the 2012 title and last season was all about getting our title back.

I think we should of beat Real and but not for an awful red card we may well of been in the final. You lot always harp on about Barcelona and the luck they got against you so its much the same here.

United, Chelsea and City will all reach at least 80 points this season. There wont be too much between 1st and 3rd.

They drew away at one of the best teams in the world and lost after a debatable red card. Not exactly an embarrassment.

As for real embarrassment in the CL this season...

5 league titles in 7 years. Not bad for a debt laden club. Remind me how many titles Chavski have won in the last 100 years?

A poor United thread started by a Chelsea fan that turns into petty nonsense. Quintessential Not606.

    Fair.

However, a month ago they didn't give two hoots about what Chelsea were doing and now since the JM return United WUMs are swamped on our board and writing endless threads about our manager on theirs. You'd think being Champions they'd have better things to worry about than ongoings at Liverpool, City and this pseudo-rivalry they think they have going with Chelsea.

Some threads have gone overboard and our arguably provocative but it's a case of chicken and the egg.

I'm sure once the real football gets started we'll be back to slating referees, performances of individuals and so forth. It's silly season now <ok>.

A £PR fan expressing an opinion on CL.. you couldn't make it up. How is European champion Bosingwa... Malouda is available too and fancies 80k a week too <laugh> mugs

United were outclassed in the Bernabeu as per. 3-0 Real would have been a fair reflection. As soon as United lost Nani in the return, Fergie and United crumbled, reacting too slowly to Jose's tactical change.

We came back from 2-0 down with ten men v BArca away after Terry was sent off, no excuses. Jose beat Barca too with ten-men Inter. Going down to ten men is not an excuse, sorry.

PS This is the Premiership board

It's also a Multi-Club Forum allowing members of any Club in any League post in any Club's Forum. If you're attempting to create some sort of superiority divide between yourself and someone else, then you're just a sad embarrassing human being.

It doesn't matter if the fan is from DQPR, Stevenage, Barnet or Chelsea, we all watch the watch the same Champions League games and can clearly see the performances given and are fully justified to give an opinion on it. Chelsea made English football look embarrassing when they won the Champions League, negative, boring football that other Countries such as Spain and Germany will have been watching and thinking "English teams don't attack much do they?". Granted, it paid off and you won the CL. Massive feat and great respect for doing so, but don't claim to be England's next best thing in the Champions League because of one year of unattractive, defensive football, followed by a Group Stage exit and a Europa League Trophy.

You need to win 13 games to win the CL, Chelsea were "negative" in 3 of them, yet still scored in all 3 of those games and were the 2nd highest goal scorers ever since the competition's inception in 1992.

People just don't like Chelsea, which I accept, but let's not undermine the performance. It's no different to how Liverpool won it in 2005 or Inter in 2010.

I'd much rather win it in the manner we did, than Barca in 2009 for instance.

In 50 years time not a soul will remember how we won it, just that we did.

To be fair to the Hull fan, you have to support a team in CL for many years to understand how the competition works

Jealously watching other clubs from your armchair on Sky, hoping they will lose, does not give you a full nderstanding

Why does your Club have to be in the Champions League to understand it fully? That's the biggest load of ****e I've ever heard on this Forum <laugh>

Whenever there's an English Club in the CL, I will be routing for them (which is basically supporting them through the Campaign is it not?) and you can clearly understand the Competition from a neutral perspective.

Do Chelsea fans speak many words with Leeds fans by any chance? You seem incredibly similar as you're both a tad deluded.

Be serious. If they'd won 3-0 in Madrid you'd have still been flattered. Joker.
