Obviously I changed my stance on Joe Martin for the first time last season after seeing the type of left back I expect to see. I still cannot help think how Martin's signature though will affect Weston's role. I'm still to see reason how they can both play on the left continually for 90 minutes. Unless MA continues to adopt the rotation system he implemented.

No. That was despite a promise via another email to do so. Thanks for reminding me. I will leave it for a few more weeks, then contact the person and ask why, if no response is forthcoming. Sounds like a later story for the grumpy old men department and I would not like to disappoint the club <laugh>

A part extract of their last response...

Just to let you know I have not forgotten about your enquiry. We are hoping to have our 2013/14 prices on june 1st. I will contact you once I have prices. <whistle>

I just wondered why Martin would make a difference to Weston? Last time I saw us play one was a Defender, one a Midfielder....

Yes. However, Martin only excelled imo when MA played him in the role of attacking full back. He has far more strength to break down the wing and turn in then Weston. Hence the winger then becomes a hinder in his role. We don't need Cody, stick Weston in there and give Martin a free role down the left. It was the identical problem with Barcham, I used to see the frustration on JM's face, only difference being and I know some will disagree but I felt Barcham was better on the wing than Weston. I'm not trying to compare two players here, just say that their ability is different dependent on the role/position you place them in. Much the same as the Keds story (not trying to open up that debate again). The only way these wingers work without strength is if you've got the missile coming over the top as in the Gazza/Tomlin pairing.
