Rotten apple, but quality player... £3m is a bit of a bargain though. I'm sure he's embarrassed by his behaviour and probably wants to start over....?
No thanks. WBA have a history of sending us duds don't they! Carl heggs - **** Craig Beatie - **** Luke Moore - average Odemwingi what ever - ??
No thanks,He's never going to score 15-20 goals in a season for us and i haven't forgiven him for clattering Neil Taylor season before last..
NJ "Luke Moore - average" But I'm sure you said he was the most 'technically gifted' striker on our books :/ - you might be right. Speaks volumes on the recent quality of our strikers!
Heis the most technically gifted, but as a striker he is average, what's the problem with that reasoning ?
I think he is a tidy player, But I dont think it is a bargain. He is over 30, His club dont want him because of all of his antics. They would give him away just to get rid of him. No more than 1m for me.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Odemwingie He's 32 years old! £3million - maybe half that to get a couple of years out of him. I would be dubious about signing him at £3m even if he wasn't a trouble maker. That said, besides that one incident, he doesn't have a bad record behaviour-wise. But we really should have West Brom over a barrell for him. He should be a £750,000 signing, maybe a £1million, because we know how much they NEED to get rid of him.
I don't think he went down to QPR trying to force a deal, I think he genuinely taught QPR had signed him. He is a talent but I don't think he is the answer to our striker problem, 1.5 million max and a rolling contract.
What about Gary Hooper at Celtic? Surprised we haven't been linked with him considering the other teams around us have. Would be a great signing for us, and a much better option than this guy.
Maybe a decent squad player at about £2 million. For a winger/striker he's got a very reasonable strike rate of about 1 in 3 - a sight better than any of our current wingers. I'd always worry about his temperament though, particularly with Laudrup who doesn't take any s**t from his players.
He could be good as our second striker provided his head is right. But agree with everyone else that £3m for a player his age is high (for us). £1m would be good but I imagine his wages are a bit on the high side. could be a gem for a year or 2. A punt worth takiing?
I saw somewhere where it was suggesting that Laudrup was suggesting the player just so that Jenkins would turn it down.
