Mbia is the latest name linked with a move to the Partenopei, joining the likes of Javier Mascherano and Blaise Matuidi as possible signings. Sky Sport are reporting that Rafa Benitez is keen to add the Cameroonian international thanks to tactical versatiliy that allows him to play in defence and the midfield. Plenty of heart (at times) but far from enough skill or brain used in decision making (the majority of times). No point having somebody to simply keep a shirt upright during games! One positive that I think that he consistently displayed was his interaction with younger fans in the stand after games! This was pointed out by my dad during games and it is something that transcends the modern 'them and us' approach and connects football egos to the die-hard supporters who fund the circuses of today... Only real loss though!
M'bia is a good versatile player. Don't know if this report is true, but Benitez does know a good player when he sees one. We should keep him if financially we have or can get the right deal with him.
I would imagine Harry and the board could find an up and coming, battling, midfielder who could replace Mbia and would be on a more attractive wage structure - and hungry to get into the EPL. I did like Mbia but, and there are a few: he's like Bambi on ice; he can't shoot for toffee and he continually gets booked for bad/late tackles. If there's a good offer on the table, we should take it.
We already have him. I hear that they have put Shaun Derry on HRT and have been rubbing him down with horse placenta.
His histrionics in virtually every game piss me off, rolling around like he's been shot and holding the game up for nothing. If he really was that talented we'd have seen it by now. Let's get as much as we can for him...
Sorry I'm not usually negative but he is utter, utter ****e. Can't shoot, pass, head or control the ball. Also can't tackle. ****er can't even dive properly. Get rid big time. Would take Derry over Mbia any day.
Will show some heart at times, but his shots end up in Westfields, his passing is inaccurate, he's about as smart as a truck and his diving is frankly embarrassing. If we get a good offer we should accept.
Not the sharpest tool in the box, methinks, but difficult not to like him despite his many faults. Still, only a year left on his contract....if Harold was in the business of improving players we should keep him and Diakite, they both have something but need polishing. not, one suspects, Harold's forte, or interest.
