QPR manager Harry Redknapp says he plans to stay at the relegated club despite speculation about his future. Redknapp, who took over last November, recently indicated that he would walk away if the R's board did not allow him to sign the players he wanted. But he said: "I am committed to QPR. I want to do well for the club and I want to take it back where it belongs - in the Premier League. Redknapp was frustrated after failing to convince the club's Malaysian owners to sanction the signing of former England left-back Wayne Bridge, who last week joined Reading. The ex-Tottenham boss has a number of other transfer targets, while several of last season's squad are expected to leave Loftus Road this summer. "I know the kind of players we need and I'm working with [chief executive] Philip [Beard] and the owners to get deals over the line," Redknapp told QPR's website. "We're in constant dialogue. We're all on the same page and want to bring success to the club. "We're trying to bring the right types of lads into the squad - players who have the right mentality, ability and character to get us out of this division. "I know the game and know what QPR need to get back into the Premier League."
Is this a move towards singing from the same hymn sheet? Seems like it to me. Perhaps Harry is the first victim of Tony - no more Mr Nice Guy - Fernandes' determination to put this thing right. I do hope so.
Or maybe a neat brown rectangular wood pulp device quilted with crisp paaaand notes wasn't sent to rosie from DJ..... Perhaps that could be a new thread, "the many weird and wonderful reasons DJ couldn't get a game!"
Regardless of Harold, this is looking better. Men who have made literally £100s of millions beginning to apply those skills to the club, rather than treating it as some sort of pet to be cosseted. First step - whenever anybody uses the term 'football person' as if it is a magic spell, remember that its means ' corrupt bunch of insiders who would not survive in any other walk of life', and proceed to ignore them. I'm beginning to feel better.
Certainly starting to look as if the foot is being applied to Harold's throat!!!.....in other words start being positive, stop giving soundbites to the press, get on with your job or feck off......something like that!!!
