Agreed.. I always preferred the yellow and black of the old days though... I think some of our recent kits have been a bitt OTT...
Take away the red stripe down the sides and I'll agree. Do the mere mortal fans ever have a say in it though? Apart, obviously, from refusing to buy the shirt.....
I like the new kit. It's very different and I find the yellow and black a throwback to the 60's and 70's. I am not a fan of online betting as it can be addictive and can get people into monetary difficulties but gaming websites are advertised everywhere. I don't for example like the Bet365 and Ladbrokes heavy advertising around big football games on ITV. That said I didn't start glue sniffing when we were sponsored by Solvite or take out a loan when we were sponsored by Loans 4U so I don't suppose bet 138 are going to have much influence either.
Yep, they have. 2011/2012 - Red shorts and red socks 2012/2013 - Black shorts and black socks with letters and numbers in black 2013/2014 - No red at all, half the shirt is black. Like I say though, at least we are back to yellow socks. Hopefully the away will be all red.
I believe Crystal Palace fans get to pick which kit they want from 3 designs, and then Avec go and make it/produce it. For us, someone at the club will pick a template from Puma (say from 5 or so different templates). Remember that one season when Joma did our kits, we the fans got to pick online which of the 3 kits we wanted by a vote?? They should do that again (would sell more replica kits that way)
My first thought was how arms will be harder for the ref to see under lights. The yellow will make the black look darker and if the sleeves are long then we could get away with the odd hand ball. As for the sponsor, I too have my doubts about on-line betting firms but in this case three numbers are totally meaningless.
I like the idea of going back to the old black and Yellow which we wore when I first watching Watford. Suddenly we introduced Red and I didn't know why or where from. Anyone seen a red, yellow and black Hornet? I guess there will be one in the world somewhere. What really interested me was the comment on the Watford FC website which said that we were putting a "global" brand on the shirt which matches the clubs ambitions. If the Pozzo's have ambitions to make Watford a global brand then that can only mean that they will invest in the club to acheive that, so thats positive. It means we will get the players to secure promotion and the stadium that goes with it. Never heard of 138.com but it's far east based and that is where a lot of dosh is. Watford the next Man U?
GT requested that red be added to our home kit when he took over in 1977 but it was then just stripes down the sleeves to go with the black and the away kit was all red with black and yellow stripes on the side of the sleeves. Off-topic, jerzeypie was going to order a top, then it came to the postage - it would cost the same to post one to him as it would to post it to NZHorn. Last time I checked, we were still part of the British Isles. He's now going to wait until we're over at October half term.
Vespa Crabro (European Hornet... methinks that is definitely us these days) certainly has a red body and legs. 'Wasps' are always black and yellow and are a bit smaller than hornets and are usually solitary except around their nest. Hornets are bigger, much bigger generally speaking, usually have a red body and legs, and will always go back and bring their mates if you annoy it. Hornets are generally more docile but when roused they are much, more, dangerous. http://www.warrenphotographic.co.uk/20483-hornet-worker-attack-mode Have to agree with your second paragraph though!
Barry, have you checked that out? I do the online posting for a friend who runs a specialist boot and shoe business and we often send stuff to the Channel Islands, it costs the same as anywhere else in the UK!

No problems so far. The PO seem to think that hiking prices will make profits rather than running the business efficiently but hey leopards do not change their spots...
Hornets are really quite dangerous if you call them names and annoy them. We have two pear trees just outside the house and when the fruit is ripe the hornets come to bore holes in them for the sweet juice, so we now pick them just before they are fully ripe. The advice given out is, if stung by a hornet get to the doctor or A & E for a jab within 30 minutes or you could be quite ill at best. A couple of years back in one of the nearby villages a 35 year old man didn't get to have his jab soon enough and died. Generally you can ignore them and they will go away, but visitors become rather alarmed at the sight of them and start trying to swat them. Not a good idea!
For those grumbling about the new sponsor...remember 'Happy Egg?' Things have moved on since then... Want to see the Keeper kits (not a fan of green for a keeper) and the away kit. Annoying they are never released all at once...
I was sitting next to him when he tried - the only option was worldwide postage. I then tried myself in case it was an issue with his laptop, but same result.
