Bookies currently have Laudrup as favourite to leave his post, Pardew second, then Jol with Hughton fourth favourite at 9-1. Is this bookies reflecting fans' discontent in the second half of the season or is there another reason why Hughton is considered so likely to go?

I am sure that I read somewhere that he was one of the favourites if Trap was to leave ROI.
Maybe that has been led to some money going on him?

probably as these are all the longest serving managers in the league!

I can understand why the other 3 are on there, slightly odd chris is 4th lowest odds. i'd have di canio lower.

I imagine we will be amongst the favourites to go down again next season so they probably expect us to have a difficult start to the season and therefore may sack the manager.

Not seen the odds myself (surely it depends on who clubs sign during the window?) but I heard we're 4th fave for the drop - behind the three promoted teams.
But didn't they say that last season? <laugh>

I imagine those odds will be based on how poor we were in between that 10 game unbeaten run and the final two games. Obviously though, it is far too early to make any sort of predictions for next year because squads are in the process of being re-assembled.

With Abramovic's track record, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the "Special One!"

On the basis of longevity CH must be a favourite on paper but IMO unlikely to come to fruition. Di Canio and Sunderland is a time bomb and it is already ticking. Pardew also will be under pressure to reverse Newcastle's decline and it won't take long for the promoted managers to come under pressure if their starts are not so hot. Football? Fickle? - surely not!

i think a certain mick mccarthy would absolutely love that job again. i think he's on record as saying so. i don't know if hughton would be interested really - its taken him a long while to get a shot at management and he's in the premier league - would be a big call to quit and take up the reigns of a country who, lets be honest, do very well to just qualify for any major tournament.

well obviously, I don't think a club in the south east for example would have a say who manages a north east club!

ah, i see what you've done there. almost comical, not quite. does anyone see di canio completely losing the plot next season and storming out? i think it's inevitable. if the geordies make a slow start then pardew won't stand a chance. doubt we'd sack hughton unless we were cut adrift at the foot of the table around christmas time but the odds may be warped by the ireland factor

Agreed. West Brom are the one exception for me. On those odds I wld be tempted to bet on them going down. Their squad doesn't look great and the way they faded after being safe must worry their fans.

Other than that, I think they have got the pecking order about right.

Don't forget though that the odds reflect punter's perceptions of the event occurring which is not the same as actual likelihood.I see Stoke have shortened sharply.I wonder why?
