Why is it a poor decision? There are other stickies on this forum that have nothing to do with football. Vetch asked for it to be a sticky, to give other posters (possibly from all boards) the opportunity to comment and give their opinions. Once the thread dies away and the posts stop it will be removed. Simples really
well give me a politics sticky then and pls remove the prediction thread as a sticky, might free up some room.
Nice edit there Musty before I could click the reply with quote button. I didn't support you (I assume it was over the reason you were canned as a MOD because you were in the wrong). If you want a politics thread made a sticky, then make the thread.
Then why make it a sticky? Leave it survive on its own merits. The number of stickies are crazy. 1 or 2 perhaps, but new visitors coming to the board see 6 unrelated topicis to the forum which gives the wrong idea/impression. If you are happy making stickies dominate the board though, I will have my Jackanory thread made one...the number of views and replies make it more than worthy on merit (or is it one rule for one and not for the other)
how was I in the wrong when a mod goes on the Cardiff board and denounces the swans board for infighting and now never appears. book thread coming up and no swimmer, not a playboy thread lol
I hate stickies to be honest, a thread should only stay on its own merits, which means people replying to it. If you use tapatalk you don't even see them unless you want too.
Read through all this, wish I hadn't thats 10 minutes I will never get back. Religion is boring and this is a football forum. This should not be a sticky, sorry Valley but a terrible decision. A thread shouldn't be made a sticky just because the op asks it to be. Norway's 1st reply to this thread says it all. It also give anyone free licence to give anyone the chance to be racist, eg and I stress this is an example only but what's to stop anyone saying " I don't like Muslims because they're all murderers, rapists wife beaters and soap dodgers". I know no one has gone this far but some of the stuff I've read on here is building up to something like that. Also Vetch, you might want to look at how you post to people too. You may think you're being tongue in cheek and typing away with a smile on your face but you need to wave a big white flag and make that clear, because the way I read your posts to Dreyfus I thought you were being awkward too. Why not add a smiley face then people know you're not being funny, like this
Im with Vetch on the dreyfus issue, i thought dreyfus's initial post was quite poor, and got what it deserved. Maybe if dreyfus hadn't posted in that manner, he wouldn't have got that response. It was more of a toys out of pram post, nothing constructive, as has been posts from those who are against the topic, your the ones lowering the tone here. The ones moaning have offered nothing other than a short moan as to why the topic is here, and accusing others of "potential" racism. As has been mentioned, religion is not above reproach, and should be openly discussed. The day we can't talk about religion openly, is the day this world has lost the bloody plot. Like has been said, if you don't want to read it, then move along. I do however agree it shouldn't be a sticky, but am more than happy to see the thread be used as a regular thread.
Been thinking after reading Mustys post back again and I want my thread unstuck ASAP too. I don't want it to even remotely be classed in the same category as any religious thread. Oh and Dreyfus did not deserve that, the reply was sarcastic and he knows it.
Couldn't be bothered to trawl through the religious debate, but simple fact of the matter is if it wasn't for religion there wouldn't be any wars/violence/bombings etc etc if you hadn't guessed I'm an atheist until someone proves beyond reasonable doubt there's a god I will remain one, however I am considering joining the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster check him out at www.venganza.org Cheers
