hhhh you still believe on that .. how many times we heard that if they want to spend 30m .. let them try .. you will be dreaming if you think they will offer anything more than 20m
And you think united will spend 40mil on Fabregas? Barcelona will want atleast £50mil to get back 3/4 of what they paid for him.
Where's the £20bn coming from for the 200 players we're apparently signing this summer? The reality is £7.5M will end up being spent on some South Korean or Niguaraguan whose popular in their home country.
no one will pay more .. is not UTD fault they were stupid enough to allow this clause let them keep him and we take alcantara instead, cheaper and will be more than happy on that deal and Arsenal will not get 20m .. it is a win-win for us
From Barca's perspective, but not from Arsenal's. If we offer £40m and Arsenal offer £20m then if they get Fabregas they will spend £20m, but lose out on the £20m from the sell on clause. So he would effectively cost them £40m in potential transfer funds - just the same as it would cost us to buy him outright. A lot will probably depend on how much Wenger and Moyes want Fabregas, who Fabregas wants to go to, and whether Arsenal can / will meet his wage demands.
Good point, I was discussing exactly this last week with my mate who supports Arsenal. Given the above scenario Arsenal would have two courses of action: 1) Buy Fabregas for 20mil and pay his wages. 2) Pocket 20m for doing absolutely nothing, and don't pay any extra wages. My mate reckons there is no way that the Arsenal board would even remotely consider option 1 given that option 2 is so lucrative, and given their track record over the last number of years you have to agree...
I think the board might consider it - they have to be ****ting themselves about their CL potential for the future what with Spurs getting so close. Having all that money in the bank is no use if you have a CL squad with CL wages to pay and no TV money to pay them. £40m on Fabregas is a small price to pay to avoid losing £40m in revenue. The key is Wenger - if he wants Fabregas, and says he wants Fabregas, the board will have to agree or risk a fan revolt. If Wenger decides he doesn't want to go back, and wants to bring more youngsters through, then they won't be in for him.
spot on .. option 2 means Arsenal can have 40m to spend on 2 classy players instead of buy one classy player .. it is a no brainier, especially given how arsenal acted so economically over the past
Fabregas contract includes a buy back option at the same price we sold him for, that is around 32 million, however barca have still not paid us the full fee, and also owe us money from the song transfer, in all they owe us around 10 million pounds, therefore that would probably be knocked of the fee. His wages are not much of a problem as he actually took a pay cut to go to barca, which surprises most people.
They have his bagged packed and have already bought him a one way economy ticket to manchester airport.
waw .. german wage structure is really low, Lewandowski was getting 40k a week .. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ski-set-to-double-salary-with-Man-United.html
"Daily Mirror" Manchester United are closing in on their second signing of the summer transfer window - Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay. An agreement in principle is in place between new Premier League champions United and the Lisbon giants for the 26-year-old, according to reports in Portugal. United signed Uruguayan full-back Guillermo Varela, 20, this week, and could follow that up with the £17million capture of Argentina international Garay. Although Rio Ferdinand has signed a one-year contract extension, he will turn 35 later this year. There are ongoing doubts over the future of United skipper Nemanja Vidic and Chris Smalling and Phil Jones were plagued by injuries last season, so incoming United boss David Moyes wants defensive reinforcements.
Ezequiel Garay is a very good defender .. is he a vidic or a Rio ? not sure .. let us see how he will cope with PL
He's a definite Rio very comfortable in possession, great distribution with the ball and good in the air in both boxes, but still the strength of Vidic so no push over either!
