He's been awesome for two seasons straight. Can't remember him having a bad game. All that with a massive knee injury in the middle of it which he just shrugged off. Along with Chester he's a long way ahead of the other defenders at the club, who are all good too.

There's no way we should be willingly getting rid of Hobbs. If he was going to leave us it'd be to a bigger club, same as Chester.

Is Davies any better than Hobbs? Of not why bother.

 

One thing is for certain, Davies is faster than Hobbs which could be vital against pacey Prem strikers.

Not putting Hobbs down in any sense here, it's simply that he is untried. Davies isn't.

 

Hobbs isnt part of the Davies deal apparntly.

Wow! Surprised at that. Surely we have someone lined up to be captain in his place then? Don't see many other candidates in the current squad.........or maybe that's what they see in Davies?

 

I think it was Bull **** man, which I tend to agree with, on another thread, suggested that if we did take Davis, it would be more likley to be alongside Hobbs and Chester in the 352 formation.

 

We've got a manager who was arguably the best defender in the country in his prime.
SB will know who we need defensively for the Prem.

 

a 352 would make our supposed move for a left sided CB or pure LB like Figueroa an odd addition. if SB brought both Davies and Fig and we play with 3 at the back then that would leave is very CB heavy. Chester, Davies, Hobbs, McShane, Bruce, Figueroa and Faye.

I think our formation next season as being primarily 352 with the CBs of Chester on the right, Davies in the middle and Figueroa on the left.

 

I'd take that all day but that still leaves excessive cover with 4 recognised CB's.

 

Well we had a total of 5 Centrbacks last season and at the end we needed them.

That being said if we get Davies and Figueroa I can definitely see one cb going out either on loan or sale.

 

and we're both forgetting that Alex Bruce can't be included as he is actually our first choice holding midfielder
