I wish there was somewhere you could go dancing here. Apart from the club, I don't really want to go clubbing on my own. Plus, it has an iffy reputation.

Nope. I live about an hour and three quarters away in some small town in the middle of nowhere which has one short high street dotted with random shops and not much else, except for the nature reserve (which is nice). Though it does have pretty decent train connections, and it's not a bad place to be fair, just awfully small. I'd love to live in the big city. Then you can just go out and meet people and so on, go dancing, etc.

I know the feeling, Salisbury may have more than one main street, but it is still essentially a dire place to live for anyone who isn't being measured for a coffin. I couldn't live in somewhere like London though, the small town lad in me would lose the plot after about a week. I spent quite a lot of time in Manchester recently and liked it there, big city with all the pluses that it brings, drive 15 miles East and you are in the Peak District, 50 miles North and you are on the Yorkshire Moors which is probably my favourite place in Britain.

I think Birmingham would be a good place to live, even if there is the risk of bumping into my ex. *shudders*

Living in a big city just seems so much more convenient. Ideally, Portsmouth or Southampton would be the a good place to live: living buy the sea would be awesome, and you'd still get the benefits of living in a big city. At least living in Salisbury though you go climbing up on Salisbury hill, you could see the city lights.

Yeah I'm the same. While I'm about 10 minutes away from Ballymena, it's **** and small, although the links to Belfast aren't terrible.

Loughborough's pretty small too, but it's not so far away from Derby/Nottingham/Leicester, and the train line from Loughborough goes straight to London St Pancras.

Birmingham's a dump. Been through it twice, and it's not pretty at all...

When the floods come I definitely won't be rushing to build an ark, I live on a whopper of a hill. No hope of getting anywhere near my house in a car when it snows though, and judging from the weather we have had in the last week I reckon it'll snow any day now!

I went there several times due my aforementioned ex and it seemed a nice place. Nice town centre, nice canals, and quite leafy as well. And from what I can gather, lots of bars and pubs and probably places to go dancing.

I'd have thought Loughborough would be decent though due to it being a student town.

    Really? It's been nice here.

Oh god no, it's pretty small (it's got everything we need but it is still much too small for a Uni the size of Loughborough's), and the locals hate us. Our house has fallen out with one of our neighbours who says we're ruining his life, all because we kicked a ball over our fence. The locals are pretty much scum.

She's attractive, and I haven't noticed the leg thing. The thing that perhaps puts me off a little is her speaking voice.

Sounds like where I went to uni, although it's even smaller than Loughborough.

Royal Holloway (or Hogwarts as we called it). Claim to fame being that KT Tunstall went there and it was used in an episode of Midsommer Murders and also where that ITV series Trinity (which I never watched, just heard about it) was filmed. The village it was in, Englefield Green, was full of chavs. But despite that the best day of my life took place on the green of Englefield Green.
