Yeah I agree, I think Wenger could get the best out of him. He's just the kind of player Wenger does well with. But Mourinho has shown an interest in Rooney in the past and with guys like Lampard, Terry, Cole in the squad it would make for an easy transition.
Cole is apparently his best mate in football. I can't see him at United next season, burnt his bridges now IMO. Rooney would compliment either Giroud or Podolski, moreso the former.
Rooney is going nowhere. Hes the head of our new kit campaign for one thing, not something that would of happened had he been leaving. Though Cym sent me a worrying tweet Think it ws about England though
Don't blame the talent, they don't pick themselves. It's those in the management and in the development positions that should get the sack IMO.
I blame the PL. We sign too many foreign players, and it hurts all the British national teams, because not enough teams promote British youngsters. We're now one of the best clubs for young British talent like Theo, Ox, Gibbs, Corporal Jenkinson, Jack; whoever would have thought that?
A lot of foreign leagues have a maximum limit on foreign imports. I think we should go this route, limit the number of foreign players we bring in, it might help the national sides out more.
signing less foreign players and lowering the standard of the league isn't gonna help young players improve at all. they need to be playing with and against the best players. more of them being loaned to other european clubs would help. but really, it's down to the level of coaching. by the time they get to the stage of forcing in to first teams, the damage has been done in terms of their youth training.
Totally agree trying to make English youngsters look better by removing their more talented european counterparts is the wrong way to go about it. Engineering a false environment will only make the English game fall further into the 'dark ages' Bob is right, we need our young players to be playing with the cream of the crop of european players in order for them to realise what the required standard is.
One only has to look at the number of young English talent plying their trade abroad to realise what the problem is.
So to translate, again, you're all just frightened of change. If this quota system is good enough for successful nations, it's good enough for me. Enjoy the dark ages.
