The best thing we can all do it just get behind the team whether we are winning, loosing or drawing. It does not take any effort to shout Yellow Army at the top of your lungs. If you want to go further you can bring a drum (having spoken to the club before hand obv) and make some noise. The thing stopping it a lot of the time is that people not in the rookery can not hear the songs ergo can not join in, so the more noise we make the more noise they can make. On a quieter note we need to make the vic a sea of yellow what ever the weather to show how much we love our club. If any of you are interested there is a group on facebook dedicated to improving the atmosphere, they are called the yellow order and sit in the upper corner of the rookery, you may have noticed the banners and flags there. It is an open group and always up for new ideas to help and new members.

there are, as i see it, a couple of problems for TYO. One, from where i sit, i can't hear them, even though i know their singing their hearts out, so as i said in the other post, accoustics is a problem. Secondly, they chant songs nobody knows, and when i've seen them at away games, they chant different stuff each time, which excludes people who hadn't yet learned the last week's chants, let alone the new ones, and thirdly, they don't often seem (at away games coz it's the only time i've heard them) to chant songs that are positive about Watford, often they are negative chants about the opposition, and stuff i wouldn't want my 11 year old singing! It's a shame, because the idea of TYO is a great one, and anything that can get Vicarage Road rocking has got to be good. There has to be a way to spread the sound so that the ground can hear them, coz at the mo, they're heard only by tnose around them it would seem.

I do conceed that they do sing too many different songs, but there is a few regulars they always sing.

    Malky Mackay

    Malky Mackay, Malky Mackay

    He's having a beer and he's having a pie

    (repeat)

    Malky's Taylor Made army

    Malky's Taylor Made Army

    (Repeat)

    Hoist Up
    Hoist up the Watford flag,

    Hear how the hornets sing

If you don't join in i'll sing on my own

Don't want to to go home

    Don't want to go home

    This is the best trip

    I've ever been on

(do do do, do do do)

    We Love you

We love you, we love you, we love

And where you go we follow, we follow, we follow

'Coz we support the hornets, the hornets, the hornets,

And that's the way we like it, we like it, we like it(woah woah woahhhhhh) x4

    Yellow Red and Black Army

    Yellow, Red and Black Army
    (repeat)

we sing all of those too BHD, we're in the Rookery, but on the left side and down in JJ...sadly the two sounds don't join in the middle! There are people above us that sing like crazy, but i suspect they're not heard in R4...

then what i suspect we need to do is get people spread out singing rather than two blocks at eithers end. maybe this season people will be aware of whats happening and join in so that the sounds spreads.

BHD - I was where you are 40 years ago - just don't hold your breath - sorry to be so sceptical but the Vic will never be a noisy ground

It won't be easy, but never say never.

Slightly under 40 years ago, I'm sure many supporters with over 40 years' experience would have said that we will never be a First Division club, that we could only hope to get gates of 15,000+ for massive cup ties, or if a big club was playing lower down than it should be.

Even if we accept that the first decade under Taylor was a one-off, we now often compete for and occasionally achieve promotion to the old First Division. We get gates above 15,000 for a couple of full price league games a year, and on family days can even do it against the likes of Doncaster. I could go on to discuss how much this club has spent on players without going bankrupt, but the likes of Nathan Ellington and Ramon Vega are hardly anything to crow about.

My point is that even in an era where the biggest clubs get bigger at the expense of those just below, a lot of things are possible today that would never have been envisaged in the past. The Premier League title is probably permanently beyond a small club now, but whether successful or not, I'm sure this club will go on to do something over the next 40 years that none of us could possibly predict.

Thanks Norway. In a matter of weeks the number of people joining in with me has increased ten fold in the VR end. TYO have proved what a small number of devoted people can do. Even Harry the Hornet is getting involved and has commented on the increased volume.

I did suggest on FB that spreading across the Rookery might be one answer but it didn't go down too well, I was told it was best if I moved to where TYO is which isn't an option for me...its a shame they seem so set in staying in that one area..

They do seem too set in their ways at times. But they seem to have lost their way a bit of late. They seem to be focusing on what others think of them and making new songs up, which is not helping anyone. But they have the backing of the club and are doing more than others so we can but hope.

I am all for your enthusiasm BHD and would love to see the noise levels increase - and applaud everything you and the Yellow Voice people do to try to increase it - but there is sometimes a difference in ages - you are not going to get people my age standing up and shouting ourselves hoarse - it just wont happen - it is not like the result of one test match - it is a factor of age and generations - but please prove me wrong :) - and don't stop trying

You dont have to shout yourself hoarse, just make a contribution. If we all join in at once we dont have to bellow at the top of our lungs. Or just make sure to wear yellow every game. The little things help!

Don't get me wrong BHD, i think what they're doing is great...it's just a shame it seems a be excluding, which i'm certain is not what they're aiming to be, it just comes across that way a bit. But i take my hat off to them, if it works to a certain extent, then it can only be good :)
