Swansea fans say he got the players playing where they should unlike Sousa - and he did that here with Priskin - unlike Reading who 3 years ago were in the First Tier Swansea came up from the 3rd and in fact were in the bottom only 6 years ago - gives us hope Also one of Readings best players - two influential corners that led to goals vame from BR signing - and our old man Jobi MacAnuff
Agree with both of you. Rodgers knew exactly what to do with that side, and he was a very good match for that set of players. But he nonetheless had the team built for him. Hate to admit it, but now that they've gone up, I'm fairly confident that they will stay up.
Credit where credits due, Brendans a slow learner but he gets there and to the Swans well done, more frustration for Cardiff which is the upside
Hope they go straight back down Now we have months of that smug irish face on the telly to look fwd to saying what a world class manager he is!
Norway - get over it - even Reading have got over Pardew !!! Swansea fans would take issue with you NNW - most of the players were there but the jigsaw had pieces in the wrong places - Sousa had taken them as far as he was going to - BR has moved them forward.
Yes, well done Swansea. Nice town, nice fans, nice country. I'll dedicate Lady Gaga's latest to our Brendan!
i would love to see judas now piss off to Chelski and get sacked after a month of 4 consecutive defeats and then watch him sail off into obscurity whilst Reading and Watford take the Automatic promation slots next year.
Boooooooooooooooooo - Well I hope the Prem fans will like parking in the Swansea Park n Ride facility. Just lovely sharing it with the caravan dwellers and Shetland ponies...Another reason not to watch MOTD next season, although it would be fun trying to count how many times Judas mentions his mate Jose...
I can't agree that Brendan is a "slow learner" . He seems quite a quick learner, which is an attribute of a good manager. He quickly appreciated that his favoured ultra passing game was not appreciated by fans at Watford, and was outside the capabilities of the players at his disposal, so he altered it to a more direct/ counter-attacking style. He quickly learned how to get the best out of Priskin , changed his mind about Rasiak (after seeming to write him off) and was quick to drop his protege Bridcutt after the youngster proved too lightweight for the Championship. A pity in some ways we never got a chance to see what kind of job he could have done at Watford. He does seem to be getting a bit tired of the "mini Jose" tag, and wants to move on, but he will find that hard. Once the media get a tag on someone they are slow to let it go--look how they still peddle the idea the Watford are a long ball outfit (owned by Elton John.) Brendan does have the charisma of a haddock so his MotD interviews will be risible, but I think his team will actually do quite well in the Premiership; not as gung-ho as Blackpool, more resiliant than Birmingham , and his football mates will be kind to him over loans. But if he came in with an offer for Danny Graham......
Rogers is a git. Stop Press. He has been approached by West Ham. Has taken the job as its "the only club I would have left Swansea for"
I was wondering what I had said to be called "a git" then I saw it was "Rogers" not "Roger". No---Rodgers is an intelligent fellow and a good manager and it is juvenile for Watford fans to keep going on about him. Maybe with Cardiff now looking for a new manger we should go back to worrying about who will come sniffing round for Malky....
Well said Ro(d)ger(s). I won't go as far as calling it all water under the bridge now. But he's apologised on multiple occasions, can't undo what he's done, and even assuming he wasn't sincere with the apologies, he paid the penalty with his sacking. More importantly, he is no longer a Championship manager, and as such no longer has any direct or indirect bearing on this club.
Cant help it If I just dont like the guy! as long as he stays off the telly that`ll do me! Charisma of a haddock ,brilliant!
Hello all, I've finally made the switch over from 606 given its impending closure. I can't pretend I'm happy with today's result by any means. I really don't care if others regard it as churlish: I have a long memory and cannot bring myself to be happy for Rodgers given how he disrespected us. Further, much as I prefer Swansea to Cardiff (not difficult to win that particular popularity contest, admittedly...) I am fed up with this hyperbole. The self-styled Barcelona of the Championship weren't nearly as impressive as some pundits made out this year. Hence why they had to come up via the play-offs, and then only with the help of two (stonewall) penalties and some very poor defending. I don't see them staying up next year.
