Obviously I bow to your superior knowledge on the subject but from my experience its the other way round. I find Arsenal fans below the age of 25 have a tendency to be more AKB due to the fact Wenger is all they know and have grown up with supporting Arsenal whereas over 25's tend to be more WOB.

Your experience is far greater than mine obviously though.

No, Cym was right the first time.

It's not an absolute, but you'll find that those of us who have been around for a bit have seen Arsenal go through some very real tough times, that put the last ten years into perspective.

Can you imagine the reaction on here if Arsenal were finishing 11th and 12th like we used to in the early 80's ?

In all honesty i go by the views of the people i travel to games with.On average about 20 of us travel regularly and the majority of us are around my age.The younger element seem to be the ones with the axe to grind whilst the older of us accept as football fans you'll have good and bad times.

It is a disgrace if he is being given a new contract. On current performance he simply does not deserve one, he is lucky enough as it is that he is being allowed to fulfill the remainder of the contract. Should he prove me and all the other WOBs wrong this season and start moving the club in the right direction then maybe at the end of the season we can entertain the thought of a 1 year extension. The truth is that with the resources available to him, he simply won't get the best out of the club and we will probably be having this same conversation a year from now. Thanks for the memories Arsene but it is time for a young manager with fresh ideas to come in and build on the foundation Arsene has set.

I don't think I have ever talked to somebody under the age of 18 who wants Wenger out.

Who is going to replace him, if you sack him?

Heynckes says he's taking a break from football, so that's 1 season out, Wenger has 1 season left, so maybe get Heynckes to take over, :-D.

We have had this discussion before. I think you overestimate the attraction of a job where you have to overcome 3 clubs with a (significant?) financial advantage in order not to be declared not just a failure, but (and I quote) "A Disgrace".

God only knows what you would be labelled if you finished worse than 4th in the league. Presumably you would never work in football management again. Pretty big risk.

Completely agree, it does appear to be an age thing.

Bat - of course you're entitled to your opinion which I respect but to suggest AW being offered a new contract is a 'disgrace' is staggering and probably epitomises the difference in expectations between fans

I dont want Wenger to sign a new contract until he can prove he still 'has what it takes'.

He's a got a good budget to turn a already 'decent' squad into a team that can really challenge.

If he fails to make the 'right' signings and strengthen the team we will need a change.

It's a make or break Summer for Arsene.

Ger real. It would be probably a make or break summer for Arsene if the club started to stall his new contract negotiations. THEN it would be the case. As far as I see the club is eager to offer him a new long term one now. It means, unlike you, the club and the owner think Wenger has nothing to prove. So in what sense is it a make or break summer ??
As i said get real and face the truth. Wenger delivers year after year exactly what the owner wants. As a part of a long term business plan Wenger ticks all the boxes.
Why on earth would Kroenke change the manager ???? I think Wenger's position is rock solid. It would be even if we finished 5th.

    Anyone.

We can see the shortcomings of this squad, Wenger can't.

Any manager who's willing to address the shortcomings is welcome in my book.

He's got the best out of the club with the resources available to him so far.

As i said earlier, the AKB brigade tends to be dumb people afraid of change, or plastics, who are typically foreign. Check twitter if you don't believe me.

As i said earlier most of the AOB tend to be youngsters who only started supporting Arsenal after Wenger became manager and because of his success. Now that we've become less successful they want him out.

As an outsider, I respect the viewpoint of both.

I do agree that many of the foreign fans are out of touch (if that's what you are implying). I can remember most of the clowns backing Benitez were foreign and slammed the matchgoing fans calling them plastic.

    .

I guess we will find out this Summer if that's true or not because there is plenty of resources available this transfer window.

I'm a supporter of Wenger and I've first started going to watch Arsenal in the Mid eighties. I've seen us when we've been ****e, average and sublime. I'm not dumb, plastic or foreign and having 30 years of following my club, I know that we have enjoyed some of the best football ever under Wenger, he basically transformed our club and in my opinion he is still the best man for the job.
