Nothing worse than been on a flight with a crying bain. Had a crier on a recent flight from Man to Amsterdam, shame it was the captain!

On two occasions, I've flown back from Hong Kong with kids screaming for twelve plus hours.

I would gladly have throttled them.

But I've got two kids of my own, one of which was ill on a flight back from a holiday once and also screamed all the way back, so I know the score.

I wouldn't let them in business though, I don't think it's reasonable to charge £4k for a plane ticket, then make people endure a newborn baby screaming for twelve hours.

Not that it matters to me, I've given up on business class nowadays, ticket prices are a joke.

I've got one holiday where I start the story with that kind of thing, but that's more a chronological thing because everything we tried to do they went and upgraded us for free. It's just part of the building to the best bits.

So very true John. I hate BA. Always use Virgin for crossing the pond.

Can be fun though pulling faces and scaring those who do. When the parents complain that is your cue to tell them to control there kids better. In my day you got a smack for doing the stuff kids do today. Maybe airlines need a naughty room for loud kids ? Now that a great idea. lol.

We always use Virgin for crossing the pond. Premium economy as it is now is very good and is more than adequate. But it will always be first class for when i go back to oz and new zealand. Now that is a plan ride for those who have yet to do it.

Im afraid I disagree with you on the Virgin thing. The last two times I have used them they have been very poor. Staff cleared off to sleep for most of the flight. Hardly ever came out with the drinks trolly and choices for food was non existant. They brought dinner round and then when we had finished they then brought the wine that was supposed to be served with dinner. I asked why it was and was given a **** excuse. I then said that this wouldn't have happened if the crew had nearly all gone back aft to have a sleep. Red faces and no reply was the response. I complained to the airline and received no reply. Shant bother with them again.

BA Club Class is much better than Virgin Upper Class, different league in fact.

    Though their lounge is cooler.

Now that's a different subject. I love a good lounge before the flight. The kids enjoy the them too.

It's the only time they behave.<laugh>

100% agree on the lounge, but 100% disagree on the product. I hate the BA club seat, having to step over someone to get out of a business class seat is just not on. It might be slightly better in seat mode, but much prefer the VS layout and in bed mode, plus you can't beat sitting at the bar for a couple of hours at 30,000ft.

If I bother you that much you could always not read my posts. Just a suggestion. I hate Paul Weller so don't own any of his music, don't read his interviews and turn the tv over when he's on. It's a system that works fine.

I flew on a similar aircraft from Miami to Paradise Island.

I asked the stewardess ( very casually dressed) where the loo was and her reply was " I'll go ask the pilot if you can use it ?".

It felt like Indiana Jones Airlines.

I once took an Air India flight from Mumbai(though it was called Bombay at the time) to London and it stopped so often that I was convinced people were just flagging it down. They also served cold curry for breakfast, which was seriously disgusting.

Next time you see a plane over your bonce, consult this cheeky little ****er to find out where it's going.

It's totally pointless, yet somehow gratifying. Real time plane tracking.

My notepad and anorak are in the post...

Normally BA book people travelling together in the outer pair of seats and the centre pair of seats, I've never travelled alone and not been put in a single outer aisle seat, so I've never had to step over someone I didn't know.

Virgin does have some advantages, the bar, the mars bar ice-creams, the bacon butties, but I think their service has gone from being the best, to being very mediocre. I used to always fly Virgin to Hong Kong and New York, but they once pissed me off so much that I snapped and handed back my Virgin Gold Card at check-in.

I did make a big of a song and dance about it, but I was spending about £20k a year with them at the time(not all on flights for me) and thought they'd been ****ing useless.

In fact, they had been ****ing useless, completely ****ing useless.
