Good on them. There's a lot of good things in Islamic Law and the opposition to ursury is one of them.

There's money lending and there's money lending. What Wonga do is pure theft and exploitation of the weak.

I agree. If that's part of their beliefs they should stick to it. I quite like the new kits but not sure I can bring myself to get on this year with wonga splashed all over it. This has been done to death here already I know but seems we are stuck with it.

Very old story and plenty of creative journalism in that piece. I'm not a big fan of these companies but they are not really the problem. It is some of the idiots who use this mechanism and our pathetic laws which allow these companies to operate. I'm really not arsed because I could pick holes in 90% of the companies who sponsor things in this country.

I expect Cisse etc will just get on with it. I'm not sure HBA is the strictest practising muslim, so I'd be surprised to see him have a problem. All in all, worst case scenario is a couple of players wear blank shirts. No big deal.

I don't like the sponsor either but having said that, Cisse gets paid a lot of money at this club and should be more focused on his own game rather than what the shirts have as sponsors. His law also says women who are unfaithful are to be stoned to death but that ain't happening either.

This isn't nastiness against the player or his religion just putting it in perspective.

That's fair enough, but as long as his beliefs don't effect things too much.

And on top of that, how many Muslims we know that share the opinion that Sharia law should be left back in the dark ages from which it came? I'd say the majority. Most of the calls for such law comes from Muslims who have converted rrather than those brought up in an Islamic environment.

They do, but they tend to start the APR at around 5% rather than 1005%

It is indeed, Cisse angling for a transfer?

Anzhi believed to be ready to pay £17m, bring back Andy and sign Jordan Rhodes too.

Didn't hear him whinging when he had Virgin Money on his shirt, who also have interest on their loans? Sooner or later, alcohol, betting and all banks will be banned from sponsorship for some pathetic reason.

Sorry but Papiss earns over 50k a week - shut up or do one.

Lets not forget it was the Virgin sponsorship deal money that brought Cisse here last Jan, no co-incidence that the money they paid was the same as his transfer fee.

Hopefully this'll mean there'll be sponsor-free shirts floating about
