No. If you did, and if you obviously enjoy reading between the lines (you know, the bit where there is nothing) and then making up wild stories, ever considered becoming a journalist? Must suck tbh, in the olden days, you were THE source of information. Without journalists, we'd never had found owt out. Nowadays though, most of us know what's going on before they do. Still, doesn't excuse them making **** up and the piss poor excuses for journalism we see.
I will never believe anything that right wing, Tory loving joke of a paper ever tells me. Whatever happened last week with Bruce the mail will surely next report it's effect on house prices and what Diana would have thought
Nick Thompson said the other day that Steve Bruce leaves him a list of targets and he cracks on with trying to do the deals. Honestly, this might have actually happened, just not in the over-sensationalising manner in which the Daily Mail has put it. The likelihood is that Wigan made an unofficial approach (i.e. made an enquiry or something of the sort) and Bruce may not have had any interest in going to Wigan at all, but he's an experienced manager - he probably saw it as a window of opportunity to get himself a bigger transfer kitty. i.e. had no intention to go to Wigan, but actually said to the Allams - give me an extra £5 million in the transfer budget and I won't even consider a word Wigan have said. That's not "clear the air talks" - it's just the sign of a good, experienced manager. It's only "clear the air talks" in the minds of the papers.
Saved me writing all that cheers dazzer. On a separate note, if I were SB I would be pretty pissed off not to be considered for the Everton job. He did a far better job at Wigan than Martinez has.
This is a good post, probably Bruce using the situation for a little bit of leverage and testing the water. It does make me laugh though when I read on here 'why would he go to Wigan blah blah blah' well probably for the same reason a lot of our other managers have gone, more money and because they undervalue being at a great club like ours
Brucey isn't on holiday, he's been back for several days now. I also think this is Mail just trying to justify the previous story they printed, which the Allam's, Bruce and Whelan have all dismissed.
He's going nowhere, just paper talk. It's a bloody long close season and the papers are struggling to fill their sport sections.
The fact of the matter is how little news there is regarding football that the Daily Mail had to make up a story involving 2 unfashionable northern football clubs. is someone in the Daily Mail football department a bitter fan of a team who we beat to the promotion place? Can we ban the Mail reporters from the KC and any of our press conferences
