Indeed the table doesn't lie, and it shows that us AND the blueshite are a million miles behind the mancs, so enjoy polishing the 'we finished higher than Liverpool for a 2nd season' trophy.<whistle>

Would be hilarious if he ended up at City instead of Chavski

Looks like Chelsea are going to sign Cavani. That'll be a massive signing for them, an interesting signing as well. Chelsea has been some what of a graveyard for strikers recently (bar Drogba), and could also spell the end for Torres perhaps? Also really puts them as firm favourites for the league in my opinion.

...but looking a bit light at the back for centre backs if David Luis and Terry are both sold as the rumours are going around at the moment. Sort that one out and they'll be in good shape for the new season...

All this Oscar and Mata need to watch out is bull, Mourinho's a world class coach, I'm sure he can adapt his style to suit them, like he did with Ozil. Though I do think Torres will be gone in the winter, he'll get a fair crack but he won't impress.

    Chelsea to finish 3rd.

If anything Mourinho will get the best out of Mata, Hazard, and Oscar. Especially mata, always had a thing of getting the best out of No. 10's.

Completley agree, Lukaku is going to be a handful, actually looking forward to seeing how he does, despite my hatred for Chelsea, they could be a real force.

So Chelski are confident of landing Cavani (50mill or so), believe Hulk is on the way this summer finally (30-35mill) and are close to getting Schurrle (22mill ish), never mind that they need a new top drawer centreback. Can their finances balance that with FFP starting properly this season? 100mill outlay at least this summer which'll need balancing over three years.

City also going to be spending huge this summer by the looks of it

Really hoping that FIFA have some balls to do something...but I'm really not optimistic

They'll stupidly point to their European winnings as some justification forgetting already existing the 800m debt. They'll spend around 150m again not including Jose's obscene pay packet.

City 40m+ last year, same as us and less than United or Chelsea, half of what Chelsea spent, Chelsea spent 33% more than United who were 2nd top spenders last season but no one said they bought the league, they have also got bigger sponsorship deals than City's supposed "dodgy as **** deals" the United fans ranted about season before last but are quiet as **** now that they have significantly surpassed those deals themselves and of course it's all good<doh>

As for FFP, only the financially backed clubs can generate the income to balance the books through sponsorship, the Evertons and Newcastles of this league can never hope to have a chance at winning the league now, they had little chance before but they have 0 ****ing chance now unless they have all star 11s coming out of their academies but of course even if they did the well off clubs will just buy those players anyways

City had 0 chance before the arabs came in. The unfortunate state of the game today, it's the only way these clubs have a chance. It's no real achievement.

Its interesting to see how many people think Mourinho back at Chelsea instantly means they will make up the rather massive gap between United/City and Chelsea.

No Drogba, no Terry, Lampard well into his 8th century. Much of that core of players who ensured Chelsea success are gone or past their best. Its a different Chelsea this time round, one with expectation rather than the club he joined the first time.

Thing is..... City had no chance 23 years ago as well. The closest Newcastle have come to winning the league in the past 50/60 years has been in the PL.

Very little has changed in football in reality, the money has increased but the chance of winning the league for most clubs remains the same today as it did in the 70's and 80's.

5 different winners of the PL compared with 7 winners of the old 1st division the 23 years prior. One club completely dominates and those that won the odd title often did so by spending.

don't think there is a clear fav for the title next season personally.

if we can keep Suarez and add some quality bit like coutinho and sturridge, we could be contenders, although bit far fetched lol be happy with top 4 for now, but who knows, top 3 all have dif managers and the only consistent one is Arsenal, will they step up, doubt it personally, they will be happy with top 4 sadly, could be anyone's who knows.

better idea when we know what squads will be for next season, if utd get Bale they would be my favs but will they, or target him?

There is nothing to suggest Chelsea will win the PL this year, I still think if this new manager City are getting is quality then it will be them followed by your lot then Chelsea. Maureen has failed to impress me with what he has done with Real given the quality of that side. He has totally disrupted them this year pretty much like he was doing to Chelsea the year he got sacked, mutual agreement my arse.

Real want him gone now too so he has not changed one bit, can't blame the chavs for loving him but they are like the ugly slapper who's had one decent bloke all her life, she dont care that he walked out and left her with a bunch of spoiled sprogs and all the bills to pay, she just wants him back cos he's the best she ever had. <laugh>
