Just booked for a weekend for me and my lad (13). Just wondering if anyone has been before (not to Albufeira) but to a match there. Didn't we play a friendly there the season before last. Interested to know bars where City tended to gather over the weekend and before the match. I've booked a cheap hotel in the old town not far from beach. Looks about 1 and half miles from hotel to the stadium.
Got Ryan Air from Leeds Bradford just under £200 for both of us (ie £50 each way) Didn't think that was too bad. Don't know about Humberside or Donny flights.
Me too. 8pm on Sat 20th July. I arrive Thursday evening and home Sunday afternoon. Couple of days sun, few beers and watch City. Oh go on then!!!! Last year the friendly I chose to watch was Rochdale so its a bit different from that.
My 13 year old will be gutted. I think stadium is a bit bigger than Costello although admittedly its not that big and has an athletics track round it (holds 5,000 I think) Good, will therefore get to see all the players that are fit and maybe a couple of newbies if we've got any by then.
I watched the Rochdale game too; was horrific! You can get a flight from Liverpool for £93 from Thursday > Sunday (return ofc.)... the hotel's going to be a bitch. What's annoying is, the flight to Faro two days before (Tuesday > Thursday is just £68... might go watch the lads train for that price).
Its the start of Summer holidays from school hence the price!!! I used hotels.com you don't get the best hotels but there are a few on there for like £120/£150 for the three nights for 2 (B&B). http://www.hotels.com/search.do?des...r=1&pn=1&upn=0&so=PRICE&pfcc=GBP&r=1,13&cpr=1
I know; I'm guessing it's well timed but for me, not so much! I've got a Low Cost package for £132 all in from Tues > Thurs; for anyone else looking if you're looking for a hotel Trivago is probably the place to head, they have some bargains on there.
so long as the b&b isnt like this place the negative comments to this hotel are some of the funniest things ive seen on the internet the manager is mentaaaal from smashing windows and waking guests with loud music at 5am to shouting at guests and passing out drunk !! He is no Basil Fawlty http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_...everley_East_Riding_of_Yorkshire_England.html
I went to the last one against Sunderland, it is like Costello, there were plenty of City on the main drag ahead of the game(there's nothing immediately next to the ground) and it's best to get pissed before you go as they only serve alcohol free lager inside the ground. I met up with about a dozen mates at the game, it was a bit quiet and very much had a pre-season feel, it's a better laugh in the bars ahead of the game.
With Ryanair I make it £78.98 return p/p. Out Thurs @ 17:25>20:00 Back Sunday 14:30>17:25. Good price that.
