50% sell on fee means that Barca selling to us for £25mil is better than selling to another club for £45mil, plus we have first refusal.

IF he was going to leave Barca we are in a VERY strong position to get him back for a low transfer fee, especially when you throw in that Barca still owe us a load of cash for previous players.

Nothing to do with Barca being idiots - the deal was done in a way that would purposely make it easy for Cesc to come back one day which i think is the plan - that he will return one day when he has achieved what he wants with Barca or when they want rid of him. Thats why they only paid £35mil for him.

They wouldn't. We would have to pay full dollar. The 50% sell on fee is a very strong bargaining tool if we are in a bidding war with another club however although if Cesc is true to his word and would only ever return to Arsenal should he leave Barca then there won't be a bidding war.

Moyes has to make an early statement to appease the Utd fans who have been used to constant success, a Summer of selling Rooney and brining no-one in (bar Zaha) will already put him on the back foot (with the fans), so a marquee signing is top of his to do list for my money.
Or it could just be paper bollocks....

Fabregas would be perfect for United.

Would be a disaster if they actually landed him. Its highly unlikley they will though.

The Fabregas 'will he, won't he go to utd' question could cause AW to delay closing any deals until it is known for sure what Fab intends doing.

It 'seems' like he has decided to stay for another year though. It's tricky because the Club value him highly but the manager less so.

If Cesc is playing for United next season I will gauge my eyes out and eat them.

Exactly- and there's Iceman trying to make a joke of it all <grr> All I can say is that I bet nobody has ever ****ed with his trifle, otherwise he wouldn't find it such a laughing matter.

If so, she had one failing I'm afraid. Probably the only one.

My mam is a lot older and wiser than you so if she puts jelly in a trifle it means that she is right <grr>
