If one of them has to go I would rather it be Wickham.

Ji Dong Won has shown vast more potential in his ability than Wickham has and in arguably a tougher league.

Personally I think Di Canio will favor Ji's work ethic and attitude to the "play boy" Wickham and give Ji a chance.

I also wouldn't sell him for around £2M, I think he has far more to offer SAFC and he looks to be a bit more versatile.

I like your thinking. As with other players, MON didn't give Ji a chance to show what he can do. I wouldn't argue against PDC keeping him, but I probably would about getting rid of Connor. Give Connor a season with PDC and if he can't change his attitude then I would gladly drive Connor to his next club in the Fizzy Pop League :)

I think Ji could be a good player for us if we bring in some good talented footballers this summer.

IMO Ji is a player who will look better playing with better quality, technically gifted players rather than a bunch of plodders and it has proved at Augsburg that he can play on the wing, behind the striker or even in central midfield so he is versatile.

I hope we keep hold of him until January to see if he has what it takes

as for Wickham I would keep him also but we do need a top quality striker brought in

Im not saying we should let Wickham go but if there was an ultimatum that we had to get someone off the wage bill it would be Wickham for me.

If he continues to have a disappointing U21 tournament/pre-season then I could see it happening.

Ji is developing at a quicker rate and that loan spell seems to have done wonders so lets see what he is made of next season, whether or not he is first team or not at least he will strengthen the squad/bench.

You cant ask for much more than 5 goals in 13 games in the Bundesliga.

I know Wickham will sort himself out under PDC's wing but what he really needs is games more than anything. I'd send him to a championship club next season, if he's progressed enough when he returns PDC can work with him then. He needs games more than an attitude adjustment. Pre-season then off on loan imo.

Can't sell Wickham, due to the loss we'd incur. We need to salvage something from this lad.

As for Ji, I'd like PDC to see him through preseason, then I'll trust Paolo's Judgement.

I don't think that would be a bad idea. I'd let Wickham go to Sheffield Wed again on loan cause apparently they've made an enquiry about loaning him again.
A season in the championship is what he needs. He wasn't exactly prolific in his short Spell there last time!

Wouldn't have thought of Wickham being a "playboy type". I honestly think the problem is that he is talentless. Bit of a shame for us, given the money we spent on him and a shame for him given his age.
Ji or Wickham?.........Wickham or Ji?.........HONESTLY.......If we are to improve......neither.

I don't think any of them are blessed with blistering pace , which is what I think we are lacking at present.

Wickham's still young, 20 I think, so a loan spell would be in order and if the olws want him -fine, let him go where he seems wanted.

As for Ji ...I've always rated the lad, be interesting to see if dorty knees puts him in the first team.

Ji is only 21 as well isnt he?

So far he has shown more progression than Wickham although it was in a different league.

I know we need pace in the side but Ji is comfortable on the ball and isnt slow by no means, could be one to watch next season. We have to keep faith with the youth.

I'd like to keep Ji as well but give Connor a decent chance and imo he will show his value. Still only young and has very few games for us in total. Like you say depends on his attitude etc.
