http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jun/06/arsenal-wayne-rooney-arsene-wenger What do you think? Posturing to get people to renew season tickets, or geniune facts?
I have to say, I think Wenger will find a way to keep us all guessing. I doubt we will be looking at the players in September and thinking we have the PL nailed down. It's going to be fun though I think.
I don't think this is posturing to get people to buy season tickets, that's a pretty cynical view in my opinion. I think things are different now. It was no secret that we were tied by the stadium debt and couldn't compete financially with the likes of City, Chelsea and Utd, no matter how much that claim was disputed and used as a stick to bash the club. We had money from player sales, but in my opinion there was never any value in simply going out and spending it all and risking the club sliding into debt. Out of that interview this is the paragraph that stands out to explain this Of course, as Vela points out, now we need to see the proof.
If Ivan Gazidis was really posturing to get people to renew season tickets i would have thought he would have released this statement before the last day for season ticket renewals.
If Arsenal are serious about spending money they need to do it early, not wait for the leftovers in the final week
Why do the club need to worry about season ticket renewals when there are thousands on the ST waiting list ?
Spout the same old **** about how there's money to be spent? You won't spend more than £20m net this summer.
I think you are exagerating a little bit there. The club have claimed we have money to spend in the past but this is the first time that they have been so specific
Getting seriously ****ing fed up with the hatred our fans seem to direct at anyone who happens to be a director at Arsenal. Whether it's Kroenke, Gazidis, or Hill-Wood, they all seem to be money-grabbing, lying asshats according to a significant section of our fans. It's become the acceptable "in-the-know" opinion it seems. Fact is, it's all based on speculative bullshit.
