    Hopefully camel ****.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-Taylor-Arsene-Wengers-Arsenal-wishlist.html

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is one the shock names on Arsene Wenger’s defensive wishlist.
The Toon cult hero has been with the club since signing as a nine year old in 1995, and has gone on to captain the side on number of occasions, for the first time in 2009.
He played 25 times last year, his most Premier League games since 2008/09, but the arrival from Montpellier of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa means he has no guarantees next season.

Taylor’s form in the last 18 months saw him called into the England squad for the World Cup qualifying match against San Marino, replacing the injured Gary Cahill.
The Gunners, meanwhile, are in the market for defensive reninforcements, and have trailed a number of options, including Swansea’s Ashley Williams.
There is strong emphasis on the part of assistant coach Steve Bould to bring in British players at the back.
The future of Thomas Vermaelen is in doubt after the club captain lost his place in the starting line-up midway through last season, spending the final two months of the season sat on the bench as Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker firmly established themselves.

The Belgium defender Vermaelen fears his World Cup dream will be left in tatters if he stays put.
There are also fears over the future of Koscielny, the Frenchman signed three years ago and who played an integral role in his club’s brilliant end to last season, which saw them pip Spurs to a Champions League place.
He has four years left on his contract but placed question marks over his future when he said: ‘I want to lift trophies and to have a winning record.
‘I hope the club will give me the means. If this weren’t the case, I’d look elsewhere. I want to win titles and I hope the club have the means.’
Koscielny, a £15million target for new Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, added: ‘I feel good at Arsenal and if the club [can] compete with the best, I have no reason to leave.
'But if it fights every year for Champions League qualification it’s hard psychologically to be under such constant pressure.’

Both Taylor and Vermaelen have a history of injuries, however if both were fit I'd take Vermaelen any day over Taylor therefore we should instigate a swap deal.

Unfortunately it will never happen because we're not in the same bracket as the clubs Vermaelen would be interested in, that said the way we played last season he'd get plenty of opportunity to show his qualities and impress the Belgian coach.

Didn't realise his injury record was that poor

Swap deal only we need 4 cb's and with colo possibly off, Willo doesn't cut it and Saylor potentially off is very worrying! Start scrubbing your boots down gent's sounds like we will need some emergency cb's

Colo's going nowhere, Willo's no loss. As for Saylor, Wengere doesn't like spending silly money and Ashley likes charging it: can't see the deal happening.

Need a good dependable journeyman for 4th choice until Streete can make the step up

The reason he's injured so much is because he puts his life on the line for the Club.

He give 100% in every game.

Never going to happen - Taylor has too many injuries to get a big move.

Funny that a story about Steven Taylor ends up being about ****ing Arsenal!

Come on lads it's not just an injury thing. Let's face facts here - Saylor is nowhere near good enough for Arsenal.

    I don't agree.

If Taylor could stay fit, he would be challenging for his England place... he made the squad recently.

He's a quality player when fully fit and focused - he's represented his country at many age levels... perhaps all.

He only plays well when he's got Coloccini alongside him to think for him. Colo makes Taylor look good. He's not in Colo's league.

The only reason he's getting a sniff with England is because the national team is so **** at the minute, and the pool of defenders so shallow with Rio and Terry retiring.

There is no doubt that Colo is a better player than Taylor, nobody would question that.

You clearly don't rate him or England so it seems pointless to discuss it further.

Nah retain him. Good defender. Not a leader but its all about balance. Him and Colo are very good. Colo and Mbiwa would be very good. Mbiwa and Saylor not so good because no one is leading. He is like our Martin Keown. Not fantastic but pretty solid and great alongside someone telling him what to do.

I don't really think Wenger would be interested.

Well, I'd take that for Taylor. We could buy Montpellier and have enough left over to snaffle Toulouse.
