Saints XI playing Eastleigh on Friday July 26th. Any other news on preseason matches?

 

The Last of Us, Naughty Dogs latest creation and a PS3 exclusive is getting rave reviews from the media with a 96% metacritic rating from over 50 reviews. I'll definitely be picking up when I have time to play it, what about you guys?

Really? It feels like more than %15. But certainly for RTS games, can you think of any recent ones? Age of Empires Online doesn't count because it was rubbish. Even if they're not as prominently advertised, you'd think people would be aware of them to some extent.

 

Starcraft, Crusader Kings, Wargame.

 

Okay, there was Starcraft, forgot that.

Crusader Kings is hardly an RTS. Well, I suppose by a loose definition it is but as it's strategy and real time but it's more it's own kind of genre. Though it annoys me, it won't let me change inheritance laws and every time my ruler dies, my demesne gets a bit smaller.

Not heard of Wargame.

 

The used thing doesn't bother me as I extremely rarely buy used. The online stuff however is an enormous issue here as the internet is so unreliable. There's no national wired phone network so all internet is 3/4G. It suffers immensely when there's dust storms or issues in neighbouring countries. Not to mention having to use a proxy (ISPs censor everything) slows it down even further.

 

I've got a PS3 and I'm really excited for it, I love uncharted and this looks even better than that.

 

I only just saw Last of Us in Game yesterday. Know nothing about it except for what it says on the blurb on the back, but it looks good. Although if there's an 'Ellie Edition' isn't there an edition for the dude as well?

 

I think you only have to be online for a minute a day - it does a checkup, rather than you having to be constantly online. I'm not sure why, but it could resolve that issue somewhat?

 

As far as I can work out the PS4 has the same rules that the PS3 has i.e none; you can be offline 24/7 and still play. The Xbox One seems to have a system where you have to be online at least once every 24 hours to be able to play any game, single player of otherwise.

With the amount of hassle I have getting restricted devices (tablets, consoles, phones etc.) online here it still makes me nervous. Our employer provides us with a wired connection but it doesn't work with the 360 as it's just too slow, can't even connect to live. I have to pay a subscription to a private 3G service to get the thing going, and that goes up and down all the time.

By the way, a good, uncapped connection here can go up to 50KD a month. About 125 pounds. Many providers offer packages that go past 100KD, but the ISP censorship is the worst. No gambling-related sites, nothing that might have references to sex, drugs or nudity, very few torrent sites. DEFINITELY no homebrew stores.

Used games aren't the biggest thing for me, but the only being able to play your game(Disc) on one other Xbox is annoying.
Also to share games you will have to mates(on the Xbox one) for at least 30 months.
