That is true looking at his previous races and who he has come up against and even been able to hold his own agaisnt the likes of Sir Des Champs- but he just slighty too inconisistent and his current price too much of a risk, I would rather side with mr consistent the champ if he was a decent e/w value i would differ also his last performances have come on soft, soft/heavy ground where as, as Bob said Salsify gets his ground. and he absolutely bolted up lto But it will be an exciting race, whatever fingers crossed!

What's the distance of the Cheltenham fox hunters? I thought it was about 3m 2f? Chapoturgeon was only beating about a length last year by salsify over the distance although did flop at Stratford.

Morning all. Just the one for me again today. Rural celebration in the 6-35 at Pontefract. Liked its last race and fancy it to go one better tonight.

Good luck to everyone having a punt.

All about Mossey Joe for me, Salsify was underwhelming at the festival, and MJ is classy. I am a big Chapo fan but this will find him out and Rumbury will probably throw his dummy out too.

Very ominous that Top offer is so big.

I think there are two views and one is that for it to have been worth the Prince keeping him in training he MUST win this as they did not do it to nurture a grade 3 handicapper and so 5-1 is huge.

The other is that he is no longer or never was the horse that his trainer and connections believed in which case he is making a far too generous price for Elusive Flame and others and they should be steamed into.

Or of course the cowards way, which I will probably take which is to just sit and watch with my money in my pocket still.

Top Offer was potentially better than 95 but hes obviously had a lot of problems and it remains to be seen if he retains that potential, it looks a tough gig to start back in and there is no way he will be near 100% so I dont think id be interested at 9/1 never mind 3/1. Elusive Flame has been a bit disappointing for me but she does have Ryan Moore and she likes the track so will probably run a race. Princess Of Orange 9/1 looks the bet for me, I think that Ascot race was pretty smart with the winner going on to run a close second to Thistle Bird in a Group 3 and the second looks on the upgrade too, she travelled like a nice filly and quickened up but just bumped into a blot in the shape of Gifted Girl. She looks ready to run a big race today with conditions to suit, the only negative is Ted Durcan but shes the type of filly who does all the work for a jockey when on a going day so it shouldn't really matter.

Other one I like is Resolute Response 13/2 at Leopardstown, half brother to Casual Conquest and has looked a nice big horse in his two starts so far, Count Of Limonade and Dibayani are decent animals but they are nothing special and i'll be surprised if he does not turn out to be the best horse in the race. Hes still a big baby and he will have to learn on the job again but the price on offer against this average opposition, he looks worth chancing to me.

I agree with you on Supa U Ron, was very very unlucky on debut getting blocked badly when making really smooth headway travelling well. No doubt he was the winner bar the misfortune that day and this look's a good opportunity to get his head in front.
