I haven't really gotten into any of them since, it's tough for them to develop because they have to add new things, but I feel like 80% of the additions they've made since CoD4 have just diluted the experience. Give me the old map style, simple guns with a few attachments, three perks, 3/5/7 killstreaks any day. I would love for them to bring out a CoD4 anniversary game, update graphics, same engine, same maps with a few new ones, 3/4 new guns, and a prequel singleplayer storyline with Price and Gaz before Soap turned up.

Bog was always a winner because you spawned in really confined walled areas, particularly on (I think) the attacking side.

Looks like I can pick 3 up from nearby for £14, think I'll take advantage of that. Not had a look at 4 but may be an investment.

Pretty much. It's got to a state of overload and just additions for addition's sake.

I think it's E3 in a couple of days so they'll show a lot of BF4 **** their, probably mainly singleplayer **** with maybe a multiplayer trailer I'd imagine. I'm already trying to figure out how I'm going to scrape together the money to afford a XboxOne or a PS4, unfortunately I probably won't be able to until a while after they launch.

My favourite CoD was probably CoD2.

I've only played 1, 2 and World at War. Three sounded interesting though as it's pretty much the only WW2 FPS I've ever heard of where you can play as the Polish and Canadians. Contrary to popular belief, the Allies didn't consist of Russia, the USA and nobody else.

But I think the amount of FPS nowadays is a bit ridiculous. Where are the good RPGs and RTSes?

I'll probably at some stage end up with a PS4. I really like the look of Watch Dogs too, be interesting to see how that pans out.

It's not the amount it's just how popular they are and generally they have much bigger advertising pushes etc., I saw an article earlier this year that graphed video game releases by genre across all platforms since about the mid 90s, and in 2012 only about 10-15% of games are FPS, TPS or just classified as 'Shooters', there were much more RPG, Adventure, Actions, Puzzle, Strategy and even Platform games. Then again the lines can be a bit blurred between how games are classified by genre, for example a game classified as Action could feature a combat FPS element but still be classed as Action, but still, I think it's more about how prominent FPS' are than how many of them there are.

So yeah, just played one round of Rush on Battlefield 3. Took an hour. If there's one criticism I could make of this game, it's that you can't just pick it up and play it for a few minutes.

I'm hesitant about the XboxOne but in reality they've only had the reveal and there's a lot more information to come, I'm yet to make a judgement. I think a lot of people thought before the Xbox reveal that Microsoft were getting the jump on Sony by doing their reveal after and it would give them all the hype heading into E3, but in reality it's backfired. After the PS4 conference there was a lot of ridicule about it, about the speakers, about how long it was, about how some of the games they showed were a bit naff, about how they didn't show the console etc. Then Xbox do a one-hour conference revealing the console, showing off the new features and showing the headline games we expected them to, all of a sudden everyones looking back comparing with false memories 'The PS4 conference showed so many games', 'they gave so much more info' etc., I saw people on twitter who I'd seen after the PS4 conference absolutely slating Sony, singing the praises of the PS4 conference compared to the Xbox reveal. Personally Microsoft showed everything I expected they would, I think some people just came in with daft expectations of them showing three hours of brand new game footage about 7 months before the thing actually launches. There's some things which seem pretty **** but in reality the PS4 has a lot of the same features but isn't getting the same focus.

Really anyway I wont be able to afford either at launch so I'll probably just sit back and then get the feel of the buzz around them when people are actually using them and make the call then, I'm leaning towards PS4 but one major downside is I have large hands and holding a PlayStation controller feels like holding a child's toy. Seriously, I dusted off my PS2 a year ago and tried to play some Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Burnout and it amazed me how small the controllers felt, that's when I knew my childhood was over. :'(

In other news, having followed Serie A this season, a lot more in the 2nd half of the season - I finally managed to settle on a team, based on history, philosophy and a bit of gut feeling. I find the way that Udinese have gone and pillaged talent and turned them into well-known names, the likes of David Pizarro, Oliver Bierhoff, Samir Handanovic and also the likes of Per Kroldrup etc. Then the fact they tend to lose their talent to the more prominent clubs, and rebuild - is quite admirable, and perhaps not a million miles away from the way Saints have operated, albeit in purchasing talent rather than naturally producing it from earlier ages.

Having seen them in the flesh as well, something kept telling me that Udinese should be my Italian team, people say it's best not to ignore these kind of things, because 'the team picks you' and all of that. So they shall be my Italian club of choice.

I'm now doing loads more reading on the club and trying to effectively 'study' my way into knowing a whole lot more about them.

Does anyone else support a club in Serie A, or any other country?

In Serie A I don't really have one preferred team, but they all seem to have political affiliations so that's one way to decide whether you like them or not; for instance, Lazio is a very nationalist club so I don't like them. Fiorentina and Livorno are at the other end of the spectrum and I find them quite likeable. AC Milan are owned by a madman, so I have mixed feelings about them. I'll probably root for the underdogs Hellas Verona and Sassuolo next season as I predicted their promotion and am quite proud of it.

In La Liga, I've followed Deportivo la Coruna because my dad used to live there and has lots of nice things to say about the city, and also Javier Irureta's side from about 1998-2004 was the most likeable team I've ever seen. Real Oviedo also interest me, and have done since before Sid Lowe made them all hip by tweeting about them. Speaking of which, they have a playoff against Eibar this weekend and will hopefully get back up to the second division.

In Germany, you've got to love FC St Pauli. They'll never be any good, but they're still cool.

I didn't feel like I wanted to support a Lazio, Roma, Milan side. Whilst I know that Udinese have been pretty decent in recent years, finishing from 3rd-7th regularly - it was the philosophy and in large part Di Natale etc. that encouraged me to follow them perhaps more closely than the others.

I was watching the La Liga games as others were commenting on here last week, and for some reason, I just cannot get into Spanish football. Italian football is totally different though. I know a lot of people can find it quite dull due to it being slow-paced, perhaps more defensive and heavily technical - but I like that. It's different in that way. I remember (just) Deportivo being a bloody good side. It was quite strange for me seeing them get relegated last weekend as that perception has generally stuck with me since then. With correct or incorrect, it's a view of their status that I have held. That they are a pretty decent club.

St. Pauli are just a totally different kettle of fish due to their culture and the principles that they have. In terms of players, Funk is one I have vaguely heard of, the same for Ebbers. I know that Bajramovic used to play for them and through a QPR player profile, that Hoilett did at one stage too, but that's about it. It's certainly a quite fascinating club in the way it has bucked trends and done things differently to a lot of other clubs. It's quite a unique and unusual club in that regard.

I have no idea if I'm going PS4 or Xbox One, mainly because I don't really give a **** about the always online or used games rubbish so I'm not immediately turned off the one, there's more information to come etc. I wish I had a PS3 now though, because The Last Of Us looks so good.
